Matt got it straight off the bat.
The first two episodes of Blake's 7's third season are Aftermath & Powerplay.
Horrid night, bad tummy and acheyness due to the rain outside

I'll get into Blakes 7 one day. Never seen much of it.
I had a pal named Avon and always though the name might have been a westcountry thing. Later found out the name came from having huge Blakes 7 fans for parents.

Only seen the first season and a half of Blake's 7 and quite enjoyed it.
Week 1 of new financial regime and cutting spending down a lower weekly maximum. Only currently have 4 job apps outstanding (closing date for one is today, another tomorrow, the other 2 next Monday) so will try to find more to fire off for this week. A big problem is that the lease is due up mid-November and I face having to go live out of my parents spare room again. I really have no great love for Glasgow and surroundings, where just reading in public heralds verbal abuse and public transport is dangerous to use. Such an undercurrent of violence there. What is especially frustrating is that I've not been picky and holding out for permanent full-time job earning x, but have been going for temp jobs, part-time jobs, even a few temp part-time. It's very difficult.

My interest with what the Daily Mirror and the Sunday Mirror prints gets ever more lower by the day. Originally, they only had shockingly bad spelling mistakes and typo's to drive people away from the paper but ever since the Tories won the election they have added daily bitching about the Tories being useless in government to their repertoire. There constant bitching made me put down the paper and vow never to read it again but this morning, out of curiosity, I decided to have a quick flick through yesterday's Sunday Mirror and it appears that they may have also added fabricated stories to their list of sins as well. Let me explain.
On the front cover of the paper it promised a story titled The Stig Reveals All (or something to that meaning) and so I read the article and it was a piece on Perry McCarthy's time as the Black Stig on Top Gear many years ago. Not only was the story considered to be old news (eight years old news to be precise) but also clashed badly with the accepted truth. Either McCarthy was telling the Mirror a lot of bullshit knowing that the paper would believe it or the paper has fabricated the entire interview using half truths from people and also the revelations from McCarthy's 2002 autobiography 'Flat Out, Flat Broke' - a book that the interview curiously neglects to even mention. Considering that the Mirror despises Top Gear I wouldn't be much surprised that this is another one of its smear campaigns to discredit the show. Anyway, following are the bits of half truths from the newspaper interview and also the accepted truth to the same piece of evidence.
Sunday Mirror Interview: McCarthy claims that they were going to name the Stig as The Gimp (after a nicknake given to a group of people he went to college with)but the former racing driver said that he refused to play a person called 'gimp' so they changed the name to Stig. Accepted Truth: Although the above was also revealed in McCarthy's autobiography according to Jeremy Clarkson the character was originally called the Stig which is backwards for 'gits' (a nickname given to a group of people he went to college with).
Sunday Mirror Interview: Jeremy Clarkson has no respect for racing drivers. Accepted Truth: Anybody who watches Tog Gear will know that petrolhead Clarkson is a fan of motor racing and racing drivers.
Sunday Mirror Interview: McCarthy gave up Formula One racing in 2004. ACTUAL Truth: Er, no. He had an aborted start in F1 in 1992 where he failed to qualify for all of his 11 races before taking on part-time test driver roles with Benetton and Williams in the following two or three years. He had turned his back on F1 long before 2004.
Sunday Mirror Interview: McCarthy was sacked from the role of the Stig because he had a few backstage arguments with the producers of Top Gear. Accepted Truth: He was in fact sacked from the role after he broke the terms of his contract by revealing that he was the Stig in his 2002 autobiography.
I'm of the belief that the Mirror fabricated the interview using some of the information gleaned from McCarthy's autobiography (which they neglect to mention possibly on the grounds that people will realise that the interview is made up of parts of it) and also from bits of misguided information from fellow Top Gear haters. Either way I think I can finally say that the Mirror, once a paper that was head and shoulders above the Sun and the Star is now no better than either of those two.

Day 4 at KAUST. Tomorrow is apparently going to be 114*F, which is 46*C. If you don't hear from me again, it's because I caught fire on the way to my orientation lecture.

If I point out that Clarkson writes for the Sun & The Times does the whole story, and indeed the Mirror's anti Top Gear stance, make more sense ? See here for more Stig identity related news.
