I woke up from a dream (at 4am) involving LEGO Admiral Ackbar from Return Of The Jedi catching mice (humanely) in traps then sterilising them with Space Science before taking them to a big wheel in his space ship to find that the heating system had crashed. Got it working again after a bit. Phew.

Were the mice on the wheel powering the heating? Is Lego Ackbar a galactic rodent slaver? Does he have a mouse organ for them? Can they fix it, can they mend it? And do they get to go to sleep?

Man, I am still pumped for this Dr Who news!!!
While searching for the Yulysses 31 video to show someone, I came across this - a low-budget live-action remake of the title sequence. It is AMAZING

Been busy over the last week with things (mainly car stuff) but I think this week is going to be a bit calmer. Got a nasty cold at the moment but it just seems to be irritating me rather than slowing me down. That usually happens with colds actually although the last one saw me be incredibly lazy.
Well time to catch up with what I've missed. I hear Mr Costa's annoyed some people.

The last day of my long weekend today. Spent a lot of it pottering around the house. Did some cleaning took bags 3, 4 & 5 of the clearout to the Shelter shop and then decided to park myself on the sofa and watch Iron Man 2 this afternoon. Feel quite chipper after that, I think I was due a bit of time about the house with my feet up all told.

My mind just imploded.
In other news, RBS have now sorted out my bank account woes. Great service from their Fraud Team. Less than great service from Royal Mail: a letter about this affair had been opened en route. I am raging. I've previously had a bank statement posted to the middle of the street. Think I need to ask my bank to stop sending me paper records.
Exhausting non-stop day at work. Built up some TOIL. This week looks impossible.

Were the mice on the wheel powering the heating? Their wheel was a sort of large yellow disc on its side within a giant dome on LEGO Ackbar's ship. The mice went inside but I could not see inside it. -Ralph

Well done to RBS for sorting things out promptly and swiftly. Royal Mail on the other hand need to sort themselves out for their showing.

LEGO Ackbar was in my dreams again last night. He was in his chair, moving slowly from side to side. He was out of focus and was saying something but I could not hear him. There was a white diffuse void around him.

Positive thoughts towards Phil and Ralph.
Just returned via taxi from Christmas 'do' number 4 of 5. So far 2 afmily 'dos's, 2 work 'do's, one of each yet to come including Christmas day itself. All good as far as I'm concerned, though family 'do' number 2 (the one with the 3-year-old god-daughter and her 5-year-old sister) cannot reallt be beaten.
Tonight;s is a strange one. It was a meal out with six close work colleagues, but I ended up having to drink more wine than anyone else and it's just now starting to kickin. My boss (well, one of my bosses was buying but not drinking anbd the restaurant - part of the Wales Millennium Centyre - was mostly empty except for us dso I didn;'t feelmlike leaving any wine to waTSEM- NOT SURE HOW GOOD THAT LOGIC IS - BUT ANYWAYT WHOOPS CAPS LOCK off anyway in the taxi onb the way home I felt myself getting more and more inebriated (sp?) and this is how it comes out if I just type without making corrections when usuallu I don't need to chec what I type.

ANYHOO I got the biggest laugh of the evening by quoting from last night's 'I'm Sorry I haven't a Clue' and saying what the man got for services rebndered to dyslexia.
By the way, one of my six dinner companions has an OBE.

Exclusive leak of government information due to too much wine consumed by Martin:
Welsh Government canteen Christmas pudding cannot be cut by a spoon.
Fact.
Eat your heart out, News International. This forum got it first.

Big Finish are selling series 1-3 of the Sapphire and Steel audio dramas for £60. Should I bite? I love Sapphire and Steel AND David Warner...

If you are going to get career advice in dreams then who better than Lego Ackbar - he is after all a fishoid of impressive pedigree.
I've not really been thinking about springing for the whole lot of the Sapphire and Steel stuff, but my next pay packet comes before the end of the sale and I am thinking of picking up the first season bundle to give that a go.
Busy day again today. Looks like the annual hecticness has well and truly kicked in as we head towards the annual office closure. So much that I want to get sorted before I finish up for the year. Ah well, I have the afternoon off tomorrow, time to sort out a few Christmas cards for the post and to do some pottering around the house to get a few more things squared away here.

Thank you Jonathan for coughing all over me yesterday. Today I have no voice.
He was off coughing yesterday. I could have had the 'Farce deliover my parcel then but thought I'd be going out. Since Liz was at college I had to cancel that and nurse my poorly little boy (let him sit upstairs playing on the computer) So for a second day I'm stuck in.... but I can see a red van out the upstairs bedroom windowso I'd better put some clothes on!

Hmmm. Much anger in this one I sense. Much anger indeed.
A nasty anxiety attack crept up and ambushed me this morning. Made for a rough few hours of work. Fortunately I was on a half-day today so all I had to do was get through the morning and then I was able to come home this afternoon. Busied myself with some cleaning and general sorting out around the house, then settled down to listen to a Doctor Who audio for a bit. The sum total was rather positive for my frame of mind and I feel a little more on an even keel now.
Only five days of work left before I finish up for the Christmas/New Year break. I am looking forward to the end of the working year immensely. The last eighteen months in my life have really taken it out of me and I am looking forward to being able to shelve at least one source of stress in my life for a while.

These are mixed days at Fortress Geoffrey. The heating has been bust for over two weeks now and the store is like a fridge. Some staff wear scarves while they work and the cashiers are all wearing gloves. The manager had to go next door with the petty cash to buy portable heaters to stop the customer services folk (on a desk next to the doors) from dying of exposure during their shifts.
Still, most of us don't have to worry about getting cold because we're running about all day. The original plan was that we would have 5 deliveries last week, 3 this week and none the week before Christmas. "Delivery" means a 40ft container full of toys, games, sports equipment, bikes, baby-gear and consoles. Then November's payday arrived and the entire world went mental for toys so now we've got 7 deliveries this week (including 2 today and one on Saturday which is never fun) and another 3 the next. We've got own-brand items appearing that I suspect were intended to be held onto until the new year (second week in December is an odd time to launch new playsets), and some really obscure stuff that was I suspect purchased in desperation because nothing else was available on short notice (Dark Knight collectors' figures, some weird figurine line based around... bins). Silly season is officially here.
We have a crowing pile of Phantom Menace toys too, but these are new and have a street date of the end of January. Huh.

Can't wait to see Phantom Menace shelf-warming again. Especially as I still see ep1 toys shelfwarming to this day!
A bin line? I must know more.
In other news, I am completely cream crackered and another mad day looms large. All I want to do is couch pilot.
