Karma to Ralph for posting the proper version of Party in my Tummy and not the watered down 'UK dubbed' version

I had no idea there were alternate versions.
In other news, the week went pear shaped within 20 minutes of turning up for work. So I managed to snag next Monday off to have a 3-day weekend.

Bad, bad man.....
Today was an interesting day. Looks like we are going to be short a member of the team for a while, which could make things a little bit hectic. I have decided that I am not going to let this spoil my week however. We will do what we can do, and what we can't do we can't.
Decided recently to make some changes to my life habits though. Planning to spend a little less time online, and specifically not to be online as late at night as I have been. All part of my plan to reorganise my evenings in the hope of being a bit more relaxed, get to my bed a little early and hopefully get a little bit more sleep and be better equipped to face the day.

The wound on my finger from last night doesn't want to heal at all; I realised this this morning when I got to work and wanted to put the book I'd been reading on the tube down and it was sticking to my hand. The back is now thoroughly blood-smeared, which is a particular shame as it was a Christmas present.
In a nice piece of synchronicity though, the short story I read this morning was about blood. So there's that.
On top of that had to pay the Parcelforce racket to release me my Seacons. Would have had a go at having it waived, but figured £8 (didn't it used to be more?) is almost worth it not to have to make half a dozen calls and be stuck in a phone queue for 10 minutes.

And there was me for a minute thinking some kind of consumer-led progress had been made and Parcelforce had reduced their fee. So naive.

Well since Mr A @'ed me on Twitter I thought I'd better rush over to explain.
Shockprowl, I am led to understand you are unfamiliar with the game of Soggy Biscuit. I shall now endeavour to explain thusly:
Note: I haven't played this since my first year at Uni, 1996, so the rules may have changed.
Soggy Biscuit is a common "hazing" ritual, usually played by members of first year University sports teams and societies. It's also played in the armed forces and other groups. I'm surprised ambulance drivers/paramedics don't play it, to be honest!
Simply put, one places a single biscuit such as a digestive or ginger nut or hob nob in the middle of a small table or on the floor. (It's important for later in the game that it's not stale and perfectly edible.)
Participants then gather over the biscuit and masturbate as quickly as they can until they ejaculate over the biscuit. The ejaculate must land on the biscuit... there are no bonus points for hair/eye/ceiling shots.
The last person to ejaculate over the biscuit loses the game and, as a forfeit, must eat it.
I hope I have described the game and its rules to your satisfaction. Should you have any further questions or comments, I will only be too happy to help.

And I had never heard of the Biscuit Game until I read Lord Tom Baker's autobiography. I can remember bending over, convulsing with laughter at that bit.

Ah. The biscuit game, one of those things that one almost hesitates to explain to someone, in case they decide they didn't really want to know after all.... because by that point they have thought it, they can't unthink it.
I never get unsolicited emails from Facebook, but I do have a friend who keeps telling me that I should be on Facebook because he cannot contact me. I point out that he has two email addresses, a mobile phone number and a landline number for me... He then changes his pitch to "it is good", and I ask why it is good. He thinks for a moment and says "there are games and stuff and you can communicate with people". I of course already have a games console, and people who I want to communicate with me usually already can..... Needless to say this conversation has not as yet led to me being on Facebook, nor does it show any sign of doing so.

Maybe I'm doing him an injustice, but I'm not convinced Graham so much as almost hesitated before inflicting that on us, but rather imagine him doing so with evil glee. Martin

Glad to hear that your mum has been released Phil.
Today was a day of quite impressive rubbishness. Or at least the first half was. I seem to have regained my equilibrium a bit in the back half of the day (and whatever else was going on I ensured that service to clients remained how I would want it to be). I have some fodder for thought as a result of today's events though so who knows, perhaps something good will come of it.

Also happy to hear your mum is out of danger, Phil.
Well, I've contacted 16 professors at ISU. So far I've had 8 'no's, one 'yes' and two 'maybe's, although the yes may hinge upon my being already in Iowa and not being a dirty foreigner. I'll find out in the coming days I guess.
