I did. All 332 were once in my hands. I still own a lot of them but in terrible terrible condition.
Never had most of the Collected Comics though. I think Wrath of Guardian/Grimlock was the only one.

Right, so hang on, who weathered the storm and went the distance? Who stuck with TFUK from their first issue through to #332? Me. And the toyline. And the cartoons. I never left Transformers. I still have my childhood issues and toys. I never grew up.

I did #94,99,102-332 apart from #155,191,194 which the shops didn't have in even with it on order & checking all other shops. They did have #155 in but only copy for another person.

26-332. I had collected comics 1 and filled much of the rest of the early hole too with car boot buys. Should all still be in the folk's loft.
I vividly remember reading that last issue in my girlfriend's bedroom and wondering what to do now. (Insert joke here)

I collected from #41-281 plus all the Specials and Annuals. I read a friend's copies until #319 after which the local newsagent couldn't get it in anymore so I assumed it had been cancelled.
About 2/3 of my childhood issues survive though many are in a bit of a state after heavy use and/or went a bit mouldy!

I started around issue 190 and carried on until the end. Quite liked the reprint stories as I hadn't read them before.

Right, so hang on, who weathered the storm and went the distance? Who stuck with TFUK from their first issue through to #332? I sadly did not. Started at Dinobot Hunt part 3, but then dropped out not after Eathforce started. Saw Flashback (thank goodness), but edged out before the whole Snarl/Starscream thing. Had many of the earlier Complete Works. Stories like 'Man of Iron' and 'Enemy Within', as well as Dinobot Hunt, got me hooked.

Probably worth reminding ourselves that being in the gap between 221 and 222 that we're two thirds of the way through the run. Two and a half years to go.

Just realised I didn't answer my own question. I started with issue one, but stopped sometime around the point the UK Punisher comic started as I had that instead. Went back to Transformers when that finished. Filled in the missing issues using eBay back when it was in its infancy. I did buy the US comic from the point I was able to get it (Decepticon Grafitti I think was the first) until #80.

First issue was 4 - later got 1 from a jumble sale/fete
Irregular occasional issues up until the 70s thanks to freebies from Dad'd work. Got 74-76 on the bounce, 78, 80 & 81. Bought 82 onwards. Think last issue was 245.

Right, so hang on, who weathered the storm and went the distance? Who stuck with TFUK from their first issue through to #332? My first issue was #38 but only started collecting it regularly from issue #59. From that point on I got every issue as it came out until #332. Although I had it on order with the newsagent, very occasionally they would not get it in, so my uncle in London would track it down for me and send it to me. Martin

Started with #89 and then near unbroken run until #210. Got most of #70-88 from friends soon after the time and then filled in most gaps via collected comics for before that. Only a smattering of issues after #300 otherwise until I filled in the gap in the late 90s.

30 Years Ago This Week: Issue #222 Wanted: Galvatron - Dead or Alive - Part 1b: Reprinted from #113Survivors! - Part 4: Springer's message to Carnivac comes just as the Decepticon is being given an ultimatum by Snarler - kill the Autobots or face being hunted himself. Carnivac refuses to help Springer, which appeases Snarler, but then changes his mind. He and Catilla join the Autobots and Snarler threatens termination on them both. The combined forces take on the void creatures while Skids learns that he won't be destroyed if they are after all. A bloodbath ensues and the Transformers are victorious. Springer offers Carnivac and Catilla the chance to become Autobots, presenting them with handy Autobrands. Catilla accepts but Carnivac remains a Decepticon, albeit now with an allegiance to Springer's new band of renegades - The Survivors. Elsewhere, The A-Z covers Perceptor and Pipes; Reader Richard Albon of Pulborough has discovered Pretender Classics Bumblebee, Starscream, Jazz and Grimlock in his local toy shop; and Colin and Steve defeat the gunfaced Lockdown Tanktop by putting a mouse down his barrel.

I do love that cover! An iconic Springer pose and atmospheric background. Shame about the Action Force logo taking up so much space.

30 Years Ago This Week: Issue #223 Wanted: Galvatron - Dead or Alive - Part 2a: Reprinted from #114Aspects of Evil - Scorponok: 1991. Scorponok rampages through a city while the Air Strike Patrol, sent by Megatron to destroy him, approach in the air. Hot Rod arrives and demands Scorponok surrender for the good of the humans and he willingly agrees, knowing Hot Rod will have to protect him as a prisoner. Hot Rod, Landfill and Quickmix force the battle into the surrounding desert and Scorponok walks free while they are occupied. In 2356 Rodimus Prime finishes recounting this story to an unknown student who asks him next to talk about Galvatron. Elsewhere, The A-Z covers Powerglide and Predaking; Readers Iain, Kevin and Paul Firth demand to know where the colour went in the first part of Race with the Devil (to which Dreadwind suggests they could colour the stories themselves); and the Pretender Classics Starscream, Grimlock, Bumblebee and Jazz feature in the first toy advert in the comic not to show the actual toys.

This story troubles me. Four Micromasters sent to take down Scorponok, and Scorponok worried enough by the prospect to devise a plan to protect himself? I know this is a 'promote the new toy' moment, but it makes Micromasters sound incredibly powerful. Also - are Micromaster alt modes supposed to be human scale sized? The Air Strike Patrol in this are drawn as full sized planes.

Even if in the issue he's credited as Geoff Anderson. I thought this was Senior's first cover in forever too - but he did he Starscream one on #209. Last one before that was the Headmasters intro issue way back in #130.

Wonderful cover, and I remember being quite excited about Aspects of Evil at the time though I'm damned if I can remember much about the individual stories now. I mostly remember the framing sequence.
I think the Micromasters are another case of mass-shifting - wasn't Roadhandler depicted as a proper sized car in the US stories? Bit of a bigger stretch to the jets of course.

I had always presumed Micromaster alt-modes were 'normal' size with the robot modes being smaller.

I think there was only one story where they were small. When that Battle Patrol member transformed and shot the Decepticon on Cybertron.

Seeing them in this issue, I assumed that they would just be regular sized Transformers without a gimmick - and it was just the toys that were miniature sized.

Yeah, I think the Micromasters usually expand in size when they become vehicles, at least when out and about on Earth.

Obviously mass-shifting is a general assumption we make about Transformers and it makes sense with the Micromasters because they have designs that suit human pilots and drivers, but I can't help but feel that the whole micro aspect of their natures is somewhat messed up by the fact they have normal sized alt modes. Lots of the fiction behind them is about being small to preserve fuel, but how does that work when their alt modes are just as big as any other Transformer?

Well, maybe they have the option to expand in size or stay small. So on Cybertron they might stay small all the time and just fuel up in their small size and run on a small amount of fuel. But on Earth, they have to expand in size in order for their disguises to work, so they need to fill up their tanks when in their large size (e.g. from Blackrock's petrol stations, in the case of Autobots). And this fuel presumably temporarily compresses when they shrink into their robot modes.
