Easy one for me this week - Skalor! He has always been my favourite Seacon toy and this is a classic example of seeing him in the comic (as well as seeing his toy pictured in the same issue) that made me think - that's the one I want to get!
I also remember being surprised how big these toys actually were when I did find them in shops.
I used to unscrew the arms and legs for these toys so they could look they do in the UK comic too. (I put them back together afterwards of course).

Easy one for me this week Whereas for me it's horribly difficult as I love them all! The added Targetmaster gun gimick is fab - were the limbs ore expensive to compensate - and would have loved to see an Autobot version. Pirranicon is the only Scramble City/Special Team combiner without an opposite number on the other faction. Indeed the last two original TF combiners in the west are both Decepticons, the technology returning to the faction who devised it. Why did the Autobots abandon Combiners?

Illegal poll!
Why, you ask? Well there's something a bit fishy about this one...

What did Nautilator do to deserve being left out of the western giftset and then again to miss out on a BWII recolour?

I wonder how Snaptrap's 'toxic sludge swamps' compare with Action Master Axer's 'slag swamps'. And what happened to the snarl, swoop and grimlock swamps?
I owned Naitilator. He was fun in creature mode, but his robot mode had too much baggage on its back, and the weapon mode felt like the creature on a stick. The base of the 'tripod' (it's not actually a tripod) is shield-shaped so it was frustrating that he couldn't wear it on his arm in robot mode. And I always wondered what the long black 'tripod rifle' did when used as a gun. The small grey gun was either a triple crusher cannon or a heat-seeking torpedo cannon depending on what mode he was in, but what did the big black gun do?

Oh, Pinwig.... *shakes head*
I have no strong feelings either way towards the Seacons. They're fun toys, no doubt about it, some lovely funky designs. I agree the extra gun mode is fun, and the creature modes are a lot of fun. But, they suffer greatly in robot mode. I found their robot modes quite poor. My brother had Snaptrap, who is an excellent big leader figure, and Nautilator when we were kids. Years ago I began on a mission to complete the team, and I acquired Tentikill, Overbite/JawbreaKer, and... oh I can't remember, I think it was Skalor. So I have, for a change, had some experience with these figures. Fun toys, but poor robot modes.
Techspecs aren't bad. Some good write-ups. Some of the values are off. Snaptrap sounds like a capable leader and tactician, yet his intelligence is 'only' 7? Piranacon only has a strength of 9 when he can make tidal waves? He must be a 10, surely.
Who my favourite is I'm struggling to say. No one member leaps out at me. But, looking at the entire package of toy, techpecs, character, I think Overbite/Jawbreaker sounds the most interesting and has the coolest creature mode, with Snaptrap a close second.

The Seacons have a such great colour choices, it's like a very early testing of the waters before Generation 2.
Tentakil gets my vote, not because of Masterforce, but I like his colour scheme and box art the best.

I owned Naitilator. He was fun in creature mode, but his robot mode had too much baggage on its back, and the weapon mode felt like the creature on a stick. The weapon mode looks silly on it's stand .... till you stand another robot behind it! The base of the 'tripod' (it's not actually a tripod) is shield-shaped so it was frustrating that he couldn't wear it on his arm in robot mode. I think you can just about do this if you use the long black gun as an adaptor. Robot holds 3mm peg, Shield plugged into one of the 5mm side pegs And I always wondered what the long black 'tripod rifle' did when used as a gun. The small grey gun was either a triple crusher cannon or a heat-seeking torpedo cannon depending on what mode he was in, but what did the big black gun do? I don't think they're defined what they do, but they've always intrigued me. Yes they're obviously guns, and have a 3mm peg they can be held with, plus a 5mm peg at each end, to form the weapons stand, but there's also a bonus 5mm peg on each side. It looks a lot like they were aiming to do something else with them. My conclusion was they were meant to be used with the spare 5mm hole on Snaptrap's shell, enabling the battle platform seen above, or to serve as an adaptor to allow the other combiners to hold a Seacon Targetmeaster: one side post into fist, other side post goes into the Combiner connector clamp, Seacon attaches.

Nautilator! I got him for my birthday the same year as PM Prime, which felt like a bit of an uneven matchup for the poor guy.

I've always wondered why the gun mode stands weren't doubled up as use for the combined modes feet. Seemed a waste.
