I thought looking at the picture that the Borg was Picard. Looks very Locutus.

Some bits now connect - the Borg is Mr Lopez, the password hint used Spanish punctuation and when we spoke to the Borg it had an accent trace. So we can surmise he's Spanish/Mexican/Latino, but that doesn't really help anything.

What's disturbing is the note we wrote to ourself -
If you're reading this message, things have gone wrong. Very wrong. I... well, you really, came up with this plan to put you here in this remote place with the guard for your and everybody else's safety. He needs you to unlock his powers, without you he is but half of what he could be and what he could do with such power doesn't warrant thinking about.
Which makes it sound like it was us that turned him into the Borg creature for our own benefit.

Blueshift! behave.
So we've found the username by double checking we've done all the basics - that was like the fact we hadn't actually examined the door to the first room to find the bolts were on the inside. Basic mistake in the rush to use the keycard. Didn't actually look at it.
Thinking aloud:
So what we're trying to do is log into the computer as the Borg. We've got the username and his own pre-Borg clue that the initialisation logs have a hint to the password. However he himself doesn't seem to want to talk to us. As we were given the hint about the logs, it doesn't seem likely that he is going to log in himself, and we can't keep ourselves safe if we let him out, because he will come into the booth and kill us. We can't go outside because we can't close the outer door from the outside.
Is the computer screen a red herring? (probably not as I don't think we've had anything like that yet) and the initialisation logs are his own from his own machine down the corridor? (probably not, as the pwd hint seems to predate him being turned into a Borg).

Now that he is restrained, maybe we try giving the key card back to Enrique? Or show it to the computer?

We could explore a bit more outside, you know, in case there's anything of interest lying around a bit further away from the building in any direction.

We tried that but the parser indicated it wasn't worth it. Everything is telling us we're missing something obvious and simple to solving this whole section of the game - like missing examining the keycard meant we didn't get the username. I think getting the password is going to be something as simple. Stom did tell us there are no items or locations in this area that we haven't already found.
It's annoying me that the Borg has the password buried in his memory somewhere because it's his login we're using, but the password hint points back at the computer logs.

Alright, let's try this just to see what happens. but I'm going to
SAVE
first just so we can reset to where we are when something inevitably goes wrong. The booth door jammed and wouldn't shut when we went into it, so presumably it doesn't need the keycard to open it a second time.
GIVE Keycard to Enrique ENTER Booth PRESS button to close outer door PRESS button to open security gate
If he's got the card he might not come after us, and he might log into the computer himself instead?

GIVE Keycard to Enrique ENTER Booth PRESS button to close outer door PRESS button to open security gate You cautiously approach the security gate and hold out the key card. The android pays it no mind, single mindedly focused on its current task of trying to get through to you.
You return to the booth and press the buttons to close the outer door and open the security gate. As the gate opens, the android's attention shifts suddenly to the small room you're trapped in. With no exit, and no where to go, you close the booth door and try to hold it shut.
You hear each purposeful heavy step approach until it is on you. It's strength is much more that yours and you can not hope to keep the door closed. The next thing you know is a gray hand grabbing your shoulder and two tendrils attaching to your neck. You initially fall to your knees weak, but then stand full of strength. You begin to hear voices, all individuals - no, all different, yes, but not individuals, all as one. The voices grow louder and more focused and you can only succumb to the oneness...
GAME OVER Final Score: 22/250 RELOADING FROM SAVE POINTLOADING COMPLETE You're standing in the entrance foyer of a mysterious building. There's a security booth and information terminal. A would be assailant is attempting to enter through a closed security gate.

Ha! Seems the parser has now adopted the tactic of ignoring anything that isn't right... Although you're right, really Blueshift should have at least one extra death from trying to punch the screen which would have inevitably ended in our hero's demise.

Right, so that seems to rule out the possibility that Enrique is going to help if we can't use the keycard to stir any memories. The fact he's held by the gate seems to suggest that's where the game wants him to stay because if he had the capability to get through it by himself, ie after a set number of moves on our part, he'd probably have done it by now.
Which brings us back to this blinking problem of slowing down the boot screen long enough to read it.
