Whilst I would indeed be on the side of say that no, it's not a Powermaster since it doesn't come with any Powermaster companions, I could find myself swayed by the argument that it counts as a Powermaster.
Except that I'm not.
Whilst I will be in no way form-ist about Transformers, and rectangular-Shockwave-like-mode could indeed be his robot mode (empurata taken too far, perhaps..?), with Powermaster companions it's a different matter. They're humanoid beings, and therefore must be able to revert to a humanoid form - being forced to remain in a cylinder forever is just cruelty! And alas, AA batteries do not transform. Not that I've ever observed, anyway.
And I think you'll find the G2 guys are "Power Masters" - note the space! Space is important! The final frontier! Please mind the gap!
