That's why I thought glow in the dark over translucent.
GitD can be done with both plastic and paint.
I mean they could even limit the glow to robot parts, and say he possessed an actual jet.

As I stated, this "line" is actually in scale. Ecto, being a voyager, is in scale with this optimus.
And like, that can't be a coincidence, otherwise why not use PotP Optimus, or Siege Optimus?
Both of those they could have thrown in a smaller Starscream and cranked up the price, if they wanted a high priced exclusive.
In fact, both of those would have allowed them more freedom to do cool things, than the MP mold allows.

Fair point. And that actually does make it really weird that they did go with MP-10 in the end. Especially since I only made my suggestion because it was the obvious, cheap one, so it’s bizarre that Hasbro went for it. Maybe they’ve got factories set up doing all these MP-10 repaints at the moment, so it was easy to roll this one out..?

I got mine today!!!
He is really cool, but I doubt the rubber parts will survive for long without extreme care.
He is also absolutely not a Hotspot retool. He doesn't even really share his engineering.

There looked like there were reused parts, notably on the upper legs & upper arms which are gold on Ecto 1 and an annoyingly hard to photo black elsewhere! Any chance of a side by side photo?

Don't know about reused parts. Won't have access to the hotspot mold until tonight at the earliest. But they're saying on that internet thingy I once heard about that they share thighs, and maybe biceps.
His head transforms exactly the same way, and he has a very similar knee assembly, but the legs transform differently. That's as much as they share in the engineering department.
No photos because I've never found a host I like since Photobucket decided to charge.
