Cannot get excited about Nightbird. Not that she's a cartoon character, the design isn't doing anything for me.
All over Zetar though, Superb.

Still no Zetar and Nightbird a Kapow, yet their new Studio Series went up at the same time as IDToys. Odd. It was the same with Barricade and the Seacons - ID put them all up together, but Kapow only did Barricade. Selects is the connection. |

Okay so sitting here fiddling with Redwing while watching TV, I started thinking and wondering why this toy even exists.
With Acidstorm, Sunstorm, Slipstream, and even G2 Starscream to pair with G2 Sideswipe, there are a ton of choices that make more sense than the most nobody of all seekers. It doesn't even fit in with the FP set.
And it hit me, I think Target specifically requested a red exclusive.
If y'all don't know, Target builds it's identity around the color red. Every bit of advertising is red. The insides of their stores are as red as they can make it while not overwhelming it's patrons.
Anything they sponcer, like NASCARs, they want red.
Other target exclusive toys, like from Disney Cars, are usually red.
The credit card this toy is being used to promote is called The Red Card.
While I doubt some CEO sat on his computer and went through every wiki entry until he found Redwing and said "this is the one!" I do now believe this is toy is a perfect storm of many different elements coming together.

He is Select. Sold through Target, online only, and only if you are a "red card member," which is their credit card.
He was up briefly before being being taken down, where he was available to everyone. Whoever put him up didn't know about the red card thing.
That's how i got mine.

They may have just given him an identical detail. And, even though Zetar has Brunt's face on the back of his head, Brunt doesn't seem to have Zetar's on the back of his.
The quesion needs to be asked: Can you get Brunt's dome off?
