I had a few Battle Beasts comics when I was younger. Didn't know that annual existed.

You are correct, but completely misunderstood me. Beastformers are in japanese fiction, as stated several times. Battle Beasts specifically do not appear in any fiction (beyond the occasional cameo in modern western TF comics). There was a 4-issue Battle Beasts comic from IDW a few years ago. It quickly passed into oblivion. -Ralph There was?!?

If they were less of a Transformers toy then, say Soundwave, would they be able to do THIS:

They're not Transformers. Correct, but that isn't the poll question. The poll question is are they _part_ of Transformers, and they clearly are. The Headmasters cartoon DVDs have been on sale in HMV. And it doesn't matter if they were called something different in Japanese (like Decepticons are Destrons), it's still them. Spider-Man and G.I. Joe are also part of Transformers. Like the is-Thomas-a-train poll, this shouldn't be the subject of a poll as it is a matter of fact. Martin The tether of logic you dangle before me pulls me up from the murky madness of uncertainty... Sorry, Big Phil, you're on your own...

Oh ffs. Not this again. Released as a Transformers line in Japan. End of story. Sigh. -Ralph No, they weren't. They're released as a spin off of a Transformers line

Illegal poll!
Actually it's not, it's clearly a straightforward question. I'm just surprised this hasn't been said already.
Anyway, to answer the question, in my opinion, they were indeed a part of the toyline since they appeared as such in the Japanese line, so yes. That said, they were sold as a separate, totally unaffiliated line in the West, so no. So on balance... maybe.

They're not part of the TF toyline They are, just as the Berserkers (though not Thundercats) were part of the Thundercats toyline, and the Dreadnoks were part of the G.I. Joe toyline (though not Joes), and the Rock Lords were part of the Gobots toyline. They even have rubsigns to prove their authenticity! Martin

The packaging claims they're Cybertron and Destron.... until doesn't. Thoroughly confusing all round. Ah but an Authentic rubsign of the time would show an Autobot or Decepticon symbol!
