Oh good lord.
Hasbro, you fucking idiots.
Takara will do Thrust for sure. But probably not for at least half a year. If I can't get the BEST strike plane, I will shatter the skies above with my vengeance.

No stock from Hasbro UK :-( So our only hope is to import. It's a Target exclusive in the US. Other Target exclusives have been UK available this year but last year's 2 - Rainmaklers and Micromasters - were impossible to get!

Could be we have to wait for a takara tomy version Yup, that's an option down the line. Le6's put it this way: I don't see them *NOT* doing it

It was a surprise to see them do the other two, but having done that there's no way they won't do Thrust. Infact, which exclusives have Takara not indicated they're going to release now? Stuff like the Rainmakers was a surprise, they must be doing pretty much everything.

Ah right. Maybe with that they're intending a Selects box with Takara recolours. That would be nice.

Whilst it's good to hear that Takara will be getting these, it's also getting absolutely ridiculous. And whilst I wasn't particularly getting fussed about any of these, I shouldn't really be feeling massive relief that I'm not, and that I'm spared the pain - this isn't what collecting children's toys was meant to be about...

I plan to refocus on other hobbies in 2021. TF has just become too difficult a hobby to keep up with now. Happy with what I got but otherwise I pretty much tuning out now.

Actually, the RK preorder is still live.
Have the preorders for the other Takara releases like Dirge & Ramjet or the Rainmakers come our way anywhere? Is waiting on the Takara one safe?

It's live but doesn't add item to your cart. I haven't seen any of them at all yet and they were supposed to have been done in September.

I plan to refocus on other hobbies in 2021. TF has just become too difficult a hobby to keep up with now. Happy with what I got but otherwise I pretty much tuning out now. -Ralph I can understand that. My interest in new TF's had tailed off quite a bit recently - Cyberverse excepted.. But if it hadn't, I think that the current situation of massive under-availability would have been enough to significantly reduce my interest. When I compare it to some of my other mecha-genre interests, TF is in a dreadful mess in terms of availability. When, even from webstores, you have to put in the levels of work that for brick-and-mortar store exclusives that is even more pronounced than for webstore exclusive, expressly limited-production items to get them in the few-minute window of availability... nah, never mind. I'll go spend my money with people who want me to buy their product. I can't help compare the situation with Transformers - where to get things that aren't released for several months I have to be in the right place, at the right time in a very narrow window - to my current mild gunpla habit. With Gunpla, if I want a kit that was produced ten years ago - like the GN-ARMs that goes with Gundam Exia, no problem - I can go online and secure one in half-an-hour for retail. If I want the Gundam Plutone, which was a web-store exclusive this year, only available in the US and Japan? Again, half-an-hour and quick comparison of who has it for how much, and I could have one on its way. Transformers that aren't coming out for quite a while? I've got a specific half-hour if I'm lucky, and if I don't know about it the secondary market prices will be through the roof... Nah, you're a'ight. I think that my Transformers money next year - assuming I still have a job, roof over my head and food prices haven't absorbed all of my discretionary income - is probably going to go on some Energon/Galaxy Force/PCC Commanders stuff on the secondary market. It is easier to obtain. Karl

If Beast Wars wasn't coming next year, I think this year would have almost certainly irreparably damaged my desire to collect transformers. A constant stream of G1 redos, and now not even waiting a year before announcing the next redo. Then we hit this year where the plague (understandibly) threw everything off. But where as everything else has been put back on track, Hasbro kept dropping the ball with Transformers. Just a constant stream of preorders, barely any new product being put to the shelves. Those preorders keep being bumped back over and over and over. Store exclusives of the most desired characters for the most inconvenient stores.
I've honestly reached the point where I don't actually care about ER waves 2 and 3. My excitement died months ago, consumed by anger. Now even that anger has gone.

I rarely see TF product in store, so took the plunge and went for the online/preorder thing.
Much too stressful. I'd be annoyed that'd I'd not seen ER W2, and sad about no TFN to try and find them, but by now it would have passed. Now I'm existing in a state of anxiety because the dates keep getting pushed back, stock isn't being sent, communication is appalling when you do ask, and have I just lost a load of time or money?
Beast Wars and Studio Series is chance for me to take stock and step back. I've not enjoyed any of my hobbies this year so I think a break is needed.

I think I've managed to navigate the exclusive madness and secure everything I want, bar Thrust. It certainly hasn't been a pleasant experience though and working from home during the worst of the random preorder announcements helped.
I think going forward I'll still be in for any G1 characters, but I'm still trying to tell myself I can take a breather with all the Beast Wars stuff. It's not that I don't like Beast Wars, I do very much, it's just that I'm happy enough with the originals. With G1 updates, the uniform scale and extra articulation bring a lot. BW stuff is fine anyway.
If the exclusives next year are mostly based off the BW moulds I can't see me worrying too much about them. Thing is, I'm sure that will be true for a lot of people so it'll be interesting to see if Hasbro anticipate that in the releases.
