I LOVE Sky Lynx. This looks like a potential toy of the year for me. Four modes faithful to the original plus a Micromaster Base! HELL yes.

Minor niggle with Sky Lynx's base mode It's yet another "wall with ramp" very simlar to Scorponok's Which in turn, thanks to mistakes made a few years ago, is very similar to TR Fort Max's

I don't see any ramp walls on scorp?
And unsure what we're compairing to Max?
But Skylynx, they could have sculpted a closed door there.

Not explaining myself well, apologies, long day and head exploding. I'll have another go.
Fort Max is a big wall, formed from his legs stretched out to the sides, with a ramp coming down in the middle.
It should have been very different, more like his original city mode, but big wall with a ramp down the middle is what we got.
Scorponok is a big wall, formed from his legs stretched out to the sides, with a ramp coming down in the middle.
Sky Lynx is a big wall, formed from sides of his Lynx mode folded out to the sides, with a ramp coming down in the middle.

So... Big Phil doesn't like walls or the over-stretching of legs.

It should have been very different, more like his original city mode, but big wall with a ramp down the middle is what we got. It's been so long since I messed with him (way too big), that I forgot that wasn't hollow inside. Those aren't ramps. They lay flat, and have no connecting bits. I think they're just platforms. Think there may even be a 5mm port hole in the middle to mount a weapon. Sculpting a closed door would have helped that bit of idiocy.

Ramp as in a slope coming down, rather than one ending in an AIRLock connector.

Are we maybe looking at two different things?
I'm referring to, on skylynx, the small ramps on the leg that go right into a literal wall. "Ramp with wall."
And on scorponok those purple platforms on the legs that lay flat on the ground. They look like ramps that go into a wall at first glance, but I don't believe they're intended as such.
I thought these were what you were talking about? They're the only ramps that do straight into walls.

Don't worry Phil, I understood. But it is the defaqto base mode as with ratchets in hips and shoulders it's the easiest for designers to work in to the transformation, using the vertical body for height presence. But with Skylinx the Lynx component offers more flexibility than a humanoid bot would, so indeed, something different would have been good. Normally I find Sky Lynx extremely non-interesting but I am liking the look of this. Yep.

I wasn't sure I'd be particularly interested in Sky Lynx - we have the original and the Combiner Wars version, so why do we need another one?
Because this one looks pretty fucking awesome, that's why! Yeah, the base mode's a bit of a spreadeagled nothing, but the rest of the toy more than makes up for it. Poseable, detailed... it looks fantastic. And so much more worth the Commander price point than Jetfire was. Definitely getting this one.

I wonder if Skylinx's base mode is supposed to represent Countdown's rocket launcher mode if you can plant his shuttle mode vertically on the lynx in its rolling base mode. That would come quite close to looking like Countdown.

I said this in the Scorponok thread: Exactly the same is true of Sky Lynx! Any detailed photos or demo videos?
