Golly gum-balls, that Bee/Cliff mold is such a shell-parts-former! Makes a good Hubcap though. -Ralph But but but he has to literally hold his ass in his hand to have a decent robot mode!

Yes.
I think.
Does he have to hold his own ass?

I can't decide if Elita's colours are awful or amazing. -Ralph Arcee's car looks like a bar of soap. Elita's looks like a chuck roast

Thinking back to that very smooth Cyclonus factory test we saw a while ago, I'm wondering if this Arcee mould is designed to be more in keeping with the possible Studio Series 86 look we've yet to really learn about. That vehicle really doesn't fit the current aesthetic.

It's not screen accurate, either. Unless the whole shell is getting a remould.

I'm really liking the look of that Bumblebee - and I might even prefer it over the original Masterpiece (and certainly over the new one). I know that a lot of the engineering is pinched from that, but this looks like it'll be more sturdy and better to just fiddle with.
Elita-1 also doesn't look quite so bad in those colours. The vehicle mode is still boring, and it remains a shame how much of an Arcee re-do she is when there was the opportunity there to completely re-shell her, but the colours are more vivid, so they kinda work.

What I like about Bumblebee is how the legs/feet remind me of the original 1984 toy. I really want a version of this mould with the 1984 head design.

YES. That would be a perfect Selects that I would be all over. In gold chrome, too, for pure G2ness.
They'll give us a red one instead.

I just wonder why the car is the way it is, at all. It's just an ugly block that looks like a McDonald's happy meal toy.
It's not even like it's a compromise due to transformation, like TR Arcee's vehicle (which ended up looking better), because it has no correlation to the robot mode at all. They could have made it more accurate, and shapely. Much as I don't like Floro Dery's designs, I always loved Arcee's car mode, and honestly wished for a toy of that, more than the robot.
As for Elita, where's the paint??? It's already inaccurate as Elita never transformed into a car. So they could at least paint up some of the details.

IIRC Elita transformed but was mostly obscured by Prime on screen (Sunbow).

Having seen the series now it's made me wonder again about the next spoiler box. The one thing the cartoon does is faithfully use the toys, which means the next spoiler box character is going to be important to the plot, not just a random repaint. I'm sure there was a split second shot of Astrotrain during one of the fights in the cartoon, which I read as a teaser, and I can have a good guess why he'd be a spoiler for chapter 2. I still think it's him regardless of the transformation steps thing.
