Ah. It doesn't though. It looks to me like the red rocks that tyrannosaurs (and most american dinosaurs) are often found in.  These are the Badlands. Next to Mongolia, they are the most prodigious fossil bed in the world. I have next to zero knowledge of geology, but much of the ground looks like that fossilizer. And the black parts look like artificial bones they make to fill in incomplete fossils. I'm not sure what people think fossils look like, but fossils are varied and amazing. And they often look nearly indistinguishable from normal rock, from where they're found. There's a place in Australia that the same processes that turn bone into rock elsewhere, turns them into opal there. There is an opalized plesiosaur out there. And that is the coolist shit ever. |

Really don't know about these. It may well be geologically accurate, but it just looks like a skeleton smeared in blood to me. The head is pretty gruesome.
I can imagine an original pitch of 'skeletal armour' sounded much better than these seem to have turned out.

If all of these Fossilizers have the same parts connectors on their pieces, we're gonna have some terrifying creations when sets are combined. I mean, no way as scary as Modulok, but getting there.

While the ongoing exclusive scrambles are annoying, I'm not really feeling the burnout. In fact I've been enjoying it a lot this year, just because the toys have been so good (or at least, apparently, what I needed right now; maybe Events have influenced me here, with the high nostalgia factor of Earthrise providing some comfort).
The quality and design of WFC makes me want to put together a really strong G1 lineup like no other line has before, and its rare that I've kept so many figures out for so long within reach for fiddling with. In some ways it's a victim of its own success - the preorder stuff is annoying because I want so many of them!
They'd better not forget Skids though...

Where could one come from at the moment? We know he isn't in any of the upcoming retail waves, so who would work as Skids with minor remoulding? The most Selects will give you is a new head or something like Greasepit's petrol pump. Unless Takara do him, but he's a bit of a non-event in Japan.
I opened the T30 one only last month to out with the other '85 Diaclone cars but it didn't really work. He needs a new mould.

Transformers doesn't end in 2021. Because he's not on the slate for Kingdom doesn't mean he won't end up in whatever comes after.
They will *never* stop doing G1 updates. Generations has lasted longer than G1 did, and Classics as a whole has been going on twice as long as G1.

Indeed, I hope he does. I was asking where we could get one from at the moment, to fit the current style. I don't think it's possible with the moulds we have now. I'd rather be had his own proper mould.

It's a good question though. Where does the line go generally after Kingdom. Wrong thread for that, but the last five years have covered pretty much every G1 subgroup that can be done these days with halfway decent toys. A new brand manager needs a new gimmick to launch with. May not even be trilogies. More Beasts?
