kingdom is shorter and stalkier. Has two chainguns of doom. More realistic and better detailed rhino mode. It also has a fake lower jaw chest.
"T30" (gag) has a much more accurate head, darker green, more tan skin tone. Doesn't cheat the chest, but as a result it isn't as pronounced.

T30 had two chain guns too (unless I was lucky and got an extra). Still prefer the look of that one over the new one.

What I'm most interested in is whether the rhino mode actually has any articulation or not.

That should please you, Doctor, with your opening Transformer mouths obsession.

If a Transformer has an animal alt-mode, the mouth should be able to open and close.

I'll put you down for Terrorsaur in the first Predacon basic poll then?

Nothing, apart from not having Crazybolt's colours, I just couldn't remember for sure if his opened or not.

The previous Generations Rhinox would have been such a good toy if it hadn't had loose hips and legs. Couldn't pose or stand!

The previous Generations Rhinox would have been such a good toy if it hadn't had loose hips and legs. Couldn't pose or stand! If they're ball joints it's a simple fix with some clear nail polish to tighten them up.

They aren't.
My problem with the previous Rhinox was the shear amount of rubber parts. They'll be a few of hose with damaged or missing skin down the line.
And, IIRC, it was an arse to TF properly

If a Transformer has an animal alt-mode, the mouth should be able to open and close. For once I find myself in agreement with the good- well, with the Doctor. Although properly poseable limbs are also a necessity for me - if the alt mode's something that's more articulated than a car, then it should be, well, more articulated than a car.

Did I miss this?
RFC this week said there are new rumours that Kingdom has done well at retail and is being extended to five waves by spreading out upcoming releases and pulling the Blaster we saw a listing for forward from 2022. Apparently Deluxe Wave 4 is now two new toys and repacks of Huffer and Warpath, and Slammer and Pipes are now in Wave 5 with other repacks.

It'd be nice to think that if sales are good it's because of interest in the beast toys, that would be vindication for BW fans. If they bung in a fifth wave though it'll be like Siege's one was, toys brought forward or switched in from exclusives.
Interesting that Blaster was apparently a 2022 Generations toy. Does that mean any cassettes he might have would be Core class? Or is that gone already?

That pricepoint never stopped, it just shifted from small figures half the size of a deluxe, to micromasters for two lines. Now that they abandoned Micromasters, they shifted back to small figures half the size of a deluxe, but with a new name for the pricepoint. Since it's been going on continuously for the better part of a decade, it's highly unlikely they'll stop now.

Yes, the price point won't stop. It would be nice to think now they've shifted the kind of legends figure that class used to do into being small Deluxes, like Cliffjumper, that they won't go back to putting figures designed to scale with the bigger classes in Core (unless they're ones without an established size already, like Dracodon). If they keep what was Legends size figures in Deluxe, then it leaves the rest of the space in Core class to continue the Op/Megs/Starscream/Soundwave line. Unless they throw in a curveball again like the Micromasters were. But no, they won't remove an entire price point. Just a question of what's in it.

It does seem like this price point has 'returned' this year, as the Kingdom ones are actually availablr in normal shops like Smyths and Entertainer. Whereas nobody seemed to carry the Micromasters of Siege & Earthrise.

Long ago, when most of G1 was done and before they started in on their seemingly endless loop of 84-86 do-overs i proposed to no one important that Generations starts over, downsizing everything one class level. This was before deluxes had reached $20 and voyagers $30
The $10 pricepoint (legend/core) for the smaller bots like Bumblebee, and the insecticons.
A $15 pricepoint introduced and made the new backbone, as the standard. Prowl, Wheeljack and the likes. This would be sizewise the equivalent to the RotF scout class.
Deluxes raised to $20, and serve for the larger bots like Optimus
A $30 pricepoint (voyagers) for the really big guys like Scorponok and Fort Max
And the $40 (leader) pricepoint would be used much the way Commander Class has been currently. Relatively rare, and reserved for giants or dudes with super modes.
I think the club board may still have been a thing. I remember it wasn't a terribly popular idea, but shortly after the 3P market switched from classics scale, to "legends scale" which is largely exactly what I'd suggested, and significantly more expensive than if Hasbro had done this.
