Okay so, we know Optimus Prime will be part of this, but doesn't turn up in the list in any meaningful way. The leaker says that no bw character is the commander it titan class. Speculation based on that tiny low res poster, people are starting to think that's PMOP. I speculate that Powermaster Optimus Prime will be the commander class. IIRC The leaker says the Earthrise Prime is rereleased in Kingdom. Will try to find you a link in the morning No! Not after the mould has already been rereleased in W*NC! -Ralph

That's disappointing because a minor retool of ER Optimus cab with new trailers could get a friggin' spectacular PMOP and Ultra Magnus.

Having one Prime doesn't preclude another. In Siege we had the voyager and galaxy leader almost on top of each other.
Jetfire and Sky Lynx have been marvelous off the wall ideas for a unique size class though. We don't need the regular crew trying to fit into that. We need more Bigguns. I'd go a Broadside that big, which would be Sunbow friendly. However, PMOP is just as likely. there aren't that many Transformers that size.

It's about the complexity needed that that pricepoint alots. And I hate that Hasbro gets caught up on size, and ends up sacrificing quality in those classes. Predaking and Devastator didn't need to be that big. They could have been fantastic combiners, with equally fantastic individual figures, instead of mediocre combined robots and absolutely terrible individuals. Like I get with Metroplex the size was the point. But not every release needs to be that big. Titan and Commander are not standardized releases like Leaders, Voyagers, and Deluxes are.

Maybe Commander works for Whale Tidal Wave?
Less of a risk for Hasbro, fits with the Beast theme?

I think that would count as a bw character.
If I had my druthers, I'd want a commander class Torca

They could always do IDW Sins of the Wreckers Tidal Wave, who turned into a giant whale, remember? That would cover all bases at once. Sort of.
Although the idea of a commander class Torca is great - I love the character, and to see him at that size would be fantastic.

Oh I hope not. We've done all that. Enough Primes. Enough! They will never stop making Primes! Never! -Ralph Indeed! Kingdom Optimus Prime will be Earthrise WITH Power Master armour! ....AND A GORILLA PRETENDER SHELL!!!

You might be on to something there. A prototype Pretender Gorilla Prime existed and the concept was used for a Fun Pub toy.
Could a bigger articulated Gorilla pretender shell holding a smaller Optimus inside work at Commander class?

That would be simultaneously exactly what I want and exactly what I don't want.
Actually no - the original Beast Wars figures are already perfect, they don't need re-imagining. Let's have those beast forms be Pretender shells for G1 characters! Everyone'll hate it, but I'll love it because it'll be different! Do it Hasbro, you cowards!

Or - if the Commander sized Prime was just a big truck cab, it would scale nicely against 9mostase modes.

Actually no - the original Beast Wars figures are already perfect, they don't need re-imagining. Very true. With modern materials and economies there is no way a generations Optimus Primal would come anywhere near the original. At least with figures like the Diaclone cars generations can give us articulation and scale, but nothing Hasbro can do now would improve on the brilliance of the original Primal.

If anyone is missing any BW show character toys now may be the time to buy them. I can see prices escalating as a Beast nostalgia wave hit regular folk as well as TF fans.

All the Pretender talk in this thread is making me wish that that is why there will apparently be a small “core” class as part of this line. The name would make much more sense that way!

Something unusual is going on this year for sure. The other Hasbro toylines are now getting back on track after the virus related holdups and don't appear to have lost anything, but Transformers appeared to be missing a wave release slot even back around toyfair time. When wave 2 was announced for July/August in the first place the first question we had was, six months between wave one and two? I also recall thinking back around December time that there was going to be a larger gap than usual between Siege 5 and Earthrise 1 based on the Amazon release dates saying something like April/May for wave 1.
It might be that the Netflix line was deemed important enough to become something that would alternate with Earthrise as Netflix wave 1 came around the time we'd have usually expected the next Generations wave. That does feel like a big step though because all that was coming through one outlet. It may also be that some of the exclusives and the odd appearances of characters like Soundwave and Bumblebee in Earth modes without grime in the Netlflix line indicate Earthrise wave 4 has been cannibalised into other lines. Hasbro could easily make that claim - that Earthrise Wave 4 is actually all the exclusives. If they did that I think we could guess that's a retrofit though.
Whatever the reality, I would think we won't miss any toys. Anything due for release this year would have been too far through production to be scrapped cost effectively. I'm sure it's all there.

I am wondering if the shenanigans happened much earlier. I think the key is the "Siege expands to five ways". Now IIRC th reasons given were Siege was wildly successful. The problem with that is we were told that very early on in Siege's life and the addition of a fifth Siege wave knocked Earthrise's start back from pre Christmas, which was when Hasbro said they liked to start when POTP got cut short for Siege to start then.
I'm smelling something having gone Pete during Earthrise's development. Possibly it relates to the shields idea that several toys have - couldn't get a trademark perhaps? Possibly to the underused Mercenaries faction? Not sure. Siege gets extended to cover the gap, couple of repaints, couple of toys pulled forward (Apeface, Spinister & Astrotrain) couple of quick repaints (Crosshairs and Singe)
We might never know for sure but something looks odd
