This is Studio Series, though. And Ironhide transforms without use of a sled in the Movie. But Rodimus and Optimus both transform without their battle platforms too. And Megatron constantly transforms without forming his seperate cannon thingy. I know that those Generations toys (bar Megatron) aren't part of the actual SS toyline but if they were, they'd be the same, I'm sure. And of course, Ironhide only transforms whilst running past that wall in the Movie so his sled could have been parked behind it waiting to complete his transformation. I said sled again.

I don't know if there's enough difference to chase this down over Earthrise. Hoping that a Ratchet will happen though. They can't keep stiffing us, can they?

I'm still sure/hoping that somewhere down the line, a toyline of retro styled toy accurate Transformers (with added poseability) will be a thing, just like the MOTU Origins.

You’d hope. It seems like such a simple slam dunk idea. No idea how simple the execution is.

It might be difficult. The designers would have to look at the original toys and box art (possibly the very early UK strips and Ladybird books) and try their hardest to FORGET ABOUT THE CARTOON.
I can imagine some people struggling with this and slipping in a face or hand out of habit...

Hmm. Im not sure I like, but comparing to the Earthrise one it fixes most of the things that I didn't like about that.

Strap the designers into chairs and force them to read and re-read Enemy Within and Raiders of the Last Ark Clockwork Orange -style... AND MAN OF IRON... I've always maintained that Man Of Iron would make the best TF film. Or BBC TV special.

There's a universe out there where the Marvel US series stopped at 4, Man of Iron kept going and the UK tales carried on... and given how quickly the cartoon vanished from TV screens here...well everything may ended up been toy-based.
