My MP Magnus is out at the moment, comparing them there are a lot of similarities.

I prefer the packaging implication that the matrix has a spring loaded ejection.

Just transformed Brawn for the first time. That was interesting, without being too complex, though there's a couple of places where parts need to pass each other in close proximity so don't be too HB with it.
Both modes are nice and chunky.
I can't tell if it's a "Burns will love it" or "Burns will throw it across the room in frustration"
But I'd feel comfortable buying it again as Outback.
Gears and Windcharger to go from the 1984 Minibots to complete them in deluxe form. Powerglide & Seaspray from 1985 Outback, Tailgate & Wheelie from 1986

And Swerve. But we can assume he and Outback will be along if the Gears listing is true.

I think he mistyped Wheelie when he meant Swerve

We've had three Wheelies in recent years though and the TR one is as good as it's going to get, I think. Maybe without the Titan Master cockpit he'd be less flimsy, but that doesn't bother me so much.

Not had a deluxe size one though and if the rest of the Mini Autobots get a deluxe and he doesn't it will irk me till the end of time

Wheelie's allowed to be smaller, he's just a child.

Given what seems to be the driving force behind the current line wouldn’t the deciding factor be cartoon scale, to the extent that’s possible?
I can’t quite visualize Wheelie in relation to other minibots in the cartoon, but I have a feeling he’s generally portrayed smaller, so the SS86 core release might be about the right size?
Of course when Missing Link Wheelie rolls around he’d better be the same size class as the other minibots...

It's alright, he's on Star and ID at the moment too.
That Ratchet appeals a lot more than the Ironhide did, can't work out why.

Hmm. Ironhide wasn't around long was he. Maybe this Ratchet is one to get now rather than later. Pity. Should have put him in the Frenzy order.

Frenzy sold out on Star and ID too! I remember Rumble vanished everywhere, but I got one months after he came out from eBay for retail price.

I'm not super fussed about Frenzy and Rumble, but I had to have the Ratchet. Missed out on Siege and Earthrise both and he's the gaping hole (when not muscularly contracted) in my collection. Magnus can wait 'til payday, I think. I don't see a £90 toy selling that fast.
I've only seen one Rumble, for £14 at the Minicon, and I felt he wasn't worth that.

Pulse do restock most stuff, an expensive mainline toy like Magnus will be around when he comes out. Frenzy I was less sure of.

I foolishly thought we were past the era of mainline toys selling out in seconds and so was not hooked to the internet for the 6pm launch.

The weird thing is that no one else seemed to have Frenzy on hand. Just ID.
Yes. I thought the days of insta-sellouts had passed too, but I recall Rumble being a pain to find though because Smyths don't do Cores. Ratchet and Magnus won't be hard to find once they're out.

For a few minutes.
I am pretty hacked off to be back at this 'be online at x-time or miss your chance' nonsense. I thought we had moved past this. We have lives.
Bought a nice takeaway instead with the Frenzy Red money.

The Cores have always been brisk sellers and tapes always do well. SS86 goes quicker than SS. And it was in stock rather than a preorder. If anything was going to go quick it was that.
We will keep an eye out for more.
