I like it. The backend of the car mode is closer to Hubcap's design than Bumblebee and it'll be too expensive to justify, but it looks great.

Night and day difference. SS86 is a bit tabby, but so worth it.

It does not look all that different, and it does not look like it's an improvement beyond the roof needing to be removed on the older one...
But in hand, the difference is night and day. It's so much better, in every way.
ER improves over Siege in form only. It still has all the same functional flaws.
SS86 improves over ER in function. It looks the same, but just works so much better.

Absolutely! It’s worth getting it to experience the transformation - clever bit of engineering there. The MP is clever too to be fair, but this does it at mainline retail and arguably with more satisfying results.
I guess the main reason not to would be a preference for the ER van mode‘s aesthetic, but at least the SS86 version hides the feet.

I was only thinking about the robot mode, which has some nearly identical beats, such as the front bumper being behind the shoulders, and the van panels outside the legs (which are god awful in the siege/er mold, but don't pop off if you look at them, here). |

I will admit, the more I see of this the more it's growing on me - despite the vehicle mode looking rubbish. But I'm also happy with Netflix 'Bee, and the Origins 'Bee is also a good version of the character, so I will resist.

So there will be ample opportunity to snag the mold in a color we don't have.

I concur with the hive mind; 86 Ironhide is indeed a lovely figure, much better than photos make it look. It's a younger looking Ironhide compared to the Earthrise one to me. Not sure if this one or Earthrise would look better with the other Earthrise style Autobots overall, but this is certainly a good Ironhide.
