I keep looking at these pictures trying to form an opinion about this. For some reason I can't get my head round it. Being these are supposed to be movie accurate they look spot on - Grimlock's Dino mode wouldn't be that tubby anywhere else - but they're so stylised they don't look like they'd work with WfC figures. Being SS they aren't necessarily supposed to though, despite the very missing Jazz being in there.
But - that was the case with the originals. Complete style change from the Diaclone type to the movie wave in 86. So it's kinda right, but not. My head hurts.

I have TR Kup, Blurr, Scourge, and Hot Rod. LG of each, potp grimlock and eventually takara grimlock. I feel like I need them both in hand to see if I want these

We were speculating tonight on the Zoom call on how big Studio Series 86 was likely to be. The conclusion we came to was "Not Very". Almost all the likely candidates are being done in Kingdom or have been recently done in Earthrise. We were reduced to more Dinobots - one is already listings leaked - Blaster and Perceptor.

I'm a little surprised they didn't go with the cel shaded look that they trialed on Prime and Megs a year or so back.

I'm glad they didn't. I'd lose 100% interest in these on the spot.
It works for either a one off like those siege repaints, or for an entire line. But not a select handful of figures like these. They'd look terrible when placed with the related figures that didn't get that treatment.

I think it's already pretty much run out of characters. I think it's just designed to capitalise on the release of Unicron and to a lesser extent the anniversary. But for that Slag listing I'd have said one wave, otherwise why have other major characters like Galvatron and Cyclonus in Generations. The Quintessons would feel more natural in a movie specific line too, the judge still feels like an odd inclusion in WfC.
I'm wondering if Slag is a Grimlock remould somehow and a Walmart exclusive. Having seen Grimlock I can't see us getting the rest of the Dinobots done like that.

Yeah, you'd be looking at £200 just for the Dinos that appeared in the movie and at least four waves?
That's Blaster, Perceptor, Wreck-Gar, a Junkion or two and who else to spread out across that? Arbulus, Kranix?
A couple of exo-suits if you're desperate...

I heard someone theorize that they cheaped out on ER Arcee because they're planning another one for Studio. That's so stupid and redundant that it actually sounds extremely plausible with their recent track record of constant do-overs. Add that there's no "recent" Springer, and you can stretch it out to three waves easy.

Springer was done last year in Siege. Would they go again that soon?

Yeah, you'd be looking at £200 just for the Dinos that appeared in the movie and at least four waves? Yeah, who'd pay that sort of money to build up a set of characters from one movie, having to wait for many waves to do it? *discreetly coughs and shuffles Studio Series Devastator out of sight* Aaaaaaaaaaanyway... ;-)

Springer was done last year in Siege. Would they go again that soon? Would the company that did a full set of see-attack jets one year only to do another full set of those same characters the following year repeat a single character so soon? It's not unlikely.

Springer stuck out in the first place to me and he wasn't in the Netflix cartoon. But for Magnus being in Siege you'd wonder why he was there at all. He also hasn't been reused, so a minor remould without battle damage sounds feasible.

Pretty sure an Earthmode Magnus was listed in one of the spoilery leaks.

Springer was done last year in Siege. Would they go again that soon? Yes. Look at all the Siege figures that were redone in the very next line: Prowl Bluestreak, Starscream, etc. -Ralph

Yep. The Magnus rumour came with all the original Kingdom ones, the weird thing about it was that it said it was based on Earthmode Prime with an adapted trailer. How that works I do not know!

Posted my expectations on Twitter:
Already announced: Jazz, Kup, Blurr, Hot Rod, Scourge, Grimlock with Wheelie.
Already represented in "current" lines: Optimus Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee, Arcee, Springer, Ultra Magnus, Cliffjumper, Ironhide, Starscream, Soundwave, Shockwave, Astrotrain, Cyclonus, Unicron, Quintesson, Allicon, Bailiff. Galvatron rumoured for Kingdom.
So:
Deluxes Perceptor Sharkticon Junkion Kranix Rewind, Eject, Ramhorn box set ?
Voyagers Blaster (with Steeljaw) Rodimus Prime Swoop Wreck-Gar
Leaders Slag (With Daniel) Sludge (with Spike)
Without going back and redoing someone fairly recent, I blank on the last deluxe. An in-scale Bumblebee and Cliffjumper two pack perhaps, much like SS Arcee.
I'd like to see Wreck-Gar come with swappable parts that are compatible with both himself and the generic Junkion, enabling someone to buy a second generic and create a set of three.
And if I'm remotely correct about the Dinobots, then Snarl better show up as a leader class in an adjascent line.
EDIT: This is assuming two more waves with same size assortment as already announced.

A set like that would be amazing. Looking at your list has made me realise the movie display could work separated from Generations. I hadn't actually considered that. Which is silly because that's clearly the intention being a separate line anyway.
Rodimus is rumoured to be next year's Commander class.

Personal hope is a new Perceptor, some Junkions and the least likely, a good Devastator. Now I’ve seen it mentioned I’m also down for Kranix etc.
I would hope for a diaclone colours Magnus ala the first trailer as a Select release.

I feel like that would be way too big for him. Yes, remember now it's about price points, not sizes. He'd probably be a bit bigger than a voyager with an ornate weapons base in his trailer, plus loads of pointless accessories. It is quite a stretch given what we've come to expect from the Commander class, but then Earthrise Leader Prime is just a voyager with an extra box.

I want them to do a fully integrated Rodimus, especially with Hot Rod already released by then. If Titanium managed it surprisingly well at a sub-deluxe scale almost twenty years ago, They should be able to manage it in a Voyager or Leader by now.
