So... They walked up t the lowest hanging fruit on the tree, and ignored it in order to pick up the rotten apple off the ground.

$207 is the price point listed so far :-O. I am tempted as I do like the cartoon deco but not if it ends up around that price mark.

You know how they could have gotten everyone to buy this again?
Make an entirely new grimlock mold. Or at least heavily rework it until it's not the worst torso and alt mode in the entire CW range.

I'm pretty glad with this. Dinoforce/Monstructor, I would have dipped. This I can laugh out of town.

I was thinking about a second set of Dinobots. One for Alt-mode and one for robot mode but this seems an expensive way to go when I could get them second hand for a lot cheaper. But.... I'm an idiot for completionism. I didn't really want God Neptune but there he is on pre-order

Perhaps this set makes more sense for the Japanese market it is intended for.

Not really. they got POTP and supposedly the lack of interest in the Dinobots from Japanese fans is one of the reasons we go so little of them over the last 20 years.
This set is far nicer and if it had been released alongside Hasbros I would have paid the extra and got it, but Im not double dipping on them with SS86 around the corner.
Now if they had done G2.....
....hhhhm? Honestly I still may have passed as Im sure they will need repaints for the SS86 ones too.

That just what I was thinking. It's tempting for sure, but you just know you're going to hate yourself when the SS ones arrive and we may even have seen those by the time this comes out.

Pre-ordered, although for the first time ever just the deposit rather than the whole amount. Don't kill me other hub members, I just have to have one of everything, even when it's not great.

I mean when you see comparison pictures of it alongside the PottoP Dinobots the Selects release certainly looks to have better decos. But personally that’s not enough to justify the cost for me. But I’ll also not judge anyone who gets one, because it is pretty.

I seem to be the only person on Earth who thinks the POTP Dinobots are fantastic. Shinier ones would usually tempt me but not at that price, especially as I would never combine them.

In comparative terms it's just as good an upgrade as the Netflix figures are over the originals. I'd be very tempted to upgrade were it not for the promise of bigger ones next year.

I'm a big fan of the POTP Swoop, I think I had him down as best toy that year in the end of year poll, and I like Sludge a lot. The others left me a bit cold though - the only other I got was Slag and that was a bit of an impulse buy that I kind of regretted.

I've checked and I never replied to that Volcanicus text as I was too busy preordering. And I texted after seeing that the pre-order had been up for a while. You replied "not yet". Hubbers, this a dark day. Phil is no longer in thrall to combiners. He begs for new ones yet does not order them instantly!!! Ralph cries for his friend. -Ralph
