Ok!
Thing is, I've watched more on Britbox in a couple of weeks than in 6 months of Disney Plus. A streamer with Old Telly in it seems to grab me more. If I could watch it on my telly I'd probably keep it after the free trial.

Is your TV network enabled Ralph? Can you screencast to it from the laptop? Or does the laptop have an HDMI out on it that will plug into the TV?

I have no idea what VGA, screencasting or network enabled means. It's just an old donated telly. I plug a Roku into it, through which I get streaming services but not Britbox as it isn't on that. I watch it on my laptop or my phone (though the phone app sometimes does not work).

What kind of cable does the Roku connect with?
I'd do what Phil says, send a photo of any sockets on the back. There's a reasonable chance you can connect the laptop to it.
