With Pulse membership you do also get access to some additional Pulse Fan Fest content before anyone else: news.tfw2005.com/2021/03/15/hasbro-pulse-fan-fest-2021-announced-430001 Although that'll be shared online pretty much instantly for all the fans desperate for clout, so again, not much of a draw. Surprised by the spoiler being a Leader *and* a Deluxe - that's more than the previous spoiler boxes. But then that also explains the slightly higher price. And it most likely is Beast Megatron, given it's a leader, isn't it, and not the rumoured repaint of the Siege Voyager. Oh well, no Chris Deluxe for me then - I'm not paying sixty quid just for a shiny purple bone.

Hmm. Deluxe Cheetor originally £10, now £23. Rattrap originally £6, or was it just £5, and now also £23. Ultra were what, £20? Now £45. Bonkers.
Still, possibly cheaper than vintage originals, even without packaging.

Pulse is actually annoying me now. I'm concerned it's just going to be a way of Hasbro UK making money directly, rather than having to sell through retailers. Given that they're currently monopolising the incoming stock and preventing other retailers from receiving their full allocation (why yes, I am miffed about ID not getting their full allocation of Studio Series figures), this certainly seems to be likely. What would really be nice would be a way to receive stuff that we really can't get over here, like the Amazon or Walgreen exclusives, but if it's just going to be another storefront for Hasbro UK, effectively, then what's even the point?

I don't think there's any reason to think these things are related unless the shops have actually said that's why? ID often get their allocation in parts, we're just used to seeing that mentioned as restocks as opposed to 'part 1 of x'. Like last year, the retro SW figures ID had came in three batches that were six months apart, but they set preorders up for the whole lot from the start.

You're probably right, they may very well not be related. It's more the developing possibility that Pulse UK still won't get access to the same stock as Pulse US which irritates. But we'll see, that may be something they'll fix over time. Given Hasbro, though, I do not remain hopeful.

Kapow Andy posted on TFW about it, Pulse sent retailers a tiny percentage of their orders and delayed the rest of Scourge until May and 2nd Hot Rod drop till April. Pulse also decided to sell off Kapow's allocation of Mavericks without telling them. Pulse will be my last resort and I'll be sticking with the lads that have supported my addictions for the last decade plus, but at least I know should I miss the boat on something, Pulse is there.

Kapow Andy posted on TFW about it, Pulse sent retailers a tiny percentage of their orders and delayed the rest of Scourge until May and 2nd Hot Rod drop till April. Pulse also decided to sell off Kapow's allocation of Mavericks without telling them. Definitely no longer feeling kind towards Pulse. Pulse will be my last resort and I'll be sticking with the lads that have supported my addictions for the last decade plus, but at least I know should I miss the boat on something, Pulse is there. Likewise. The trick will be finding out whether something really has become a "last resort" chance to buy, or if Hasbro are just sitting on shipments to other suppliers. Hasbro Pulse - where Hasbro's financial interests come first! (Yes, I know Transformers only exists to make Hasbro money, but this is particularly dickish.)

There doesn't even seem to be a financial incentive to buy from Hasbro: you'd think if it was coming direct from source it would be cheaper!

So, what's Hasbro Pulse then? Is it an online shop or something?

Post by The Doctor on Mar 23, 2021 18:50:50 GMT
It's Hasbro's online shop for the UK (except for Northern Island) with less stock and higher prices than other shops. They only ship via Yodel. If you give them £20 for premium service, shipping is free.

There was that shooting in America last week. Guy murdered specifically Asian sex workers. It's a delayed response if it is about that.

I see. I was unaware of that.
Violence against Asian folk is of course wrong. I'm just confused as to why Hasbro made a statement. Did the gunman work for them?

Just a collective Racism comment, all big companies do it. They did accompany it it with funding an anti-discrimination group as well. They just want us to know they care about issues I imagine.

There doesn't even seem to be a financial incentive to buy from Hasbro: you'd think if it was coming direct from source it would be cheaper! Speaking with my retailer hat on, I'm glad they're not cheaper. It can be quite galling at the best of times when a manufacturer cuts out the middle man (ie their customers, the retailers) and sells directly to consumers, let alone when they undercut the retailers.
