I'm very glad this won't be another $100 commander, but I still kinda wish they broke Rodimus apart from his "trailer" and used that version instead.

I mean I'd have been more surprised if they had, but I must admit I'm disappointed they used the SS86 Hotrod instead of using Kingdom Commander Rodimus sans "trailer".
I think the core robot would have been just perfect for SG Rodimus.

It's kinda messed up that this set is only 10 bucks more than Powerlinx Hotshot.
PL Hotshot:
-Minor retooled deluxe
-two new accessories/weapons
-one brand new battlemaster equivalent
-several reused blast effects
$45
SG Set:
-Major retooled deluxe
-Two brand new accessories/weapons of similar size
-one brand new battlemaster equivalent
-one whole-ass voyager with all it's normal accessories and blast effects *with* minor retooling
-$55
So for ten bucks more, you get an entire voyager in place of some crappy blast effects.

As always, voting with wallets send a signal. If x% of units of something shift at RRP and this dwarves y% of units shifted on clearance then the higher prices will continue. Gotta help those shareholders!

My SG set has arrived from Pulse UK Some Whisper pics, apologies for the photo quality. Headline news is 5mm peg, no 5mm socket. Lots more moving bits than the original Minicon, both articulation & transformation The gap under the nose for the peg to fold into lacks the clutch to lock onto a 5mm/Minicon peg |
