Somehow it doesn't quite work. -Ralph It's more to do with the package colouring and the backgrounds. It doesn't stand out, it's practically swallowed by the box colours. Very poor decisions for the photography. |

The jet mode looks nice, the purple and green work there, but then that's all lost for an all black robot, which is just dull.

I think I pegged why this SG line has been doing absolutely nothing for me, and this guy is what made it click.
Aside from Ratchet (which is most likely an abandoned attempt at SG Soundwave), they've not only been 100% retreads, they've taken the most uninspired direction with them.
FP boosted SG through various repurposes, which is admittedly a fairly clever way to give a small sub-fandom a greater selection of toys/character, without sacrificing valuable exclusives better dedicated to more important characters than someone like Warpath.
Add to that, it's my understanding this SG is a reboot.
Like...I get the need to retread Optimus and Megatron. Even Goldbug and Blurr. But Starscream? Chances are SG collectors have at least one of the two FP did.
And Jetfire? He's a nobody in SG, and was a repurpose. If they felt they must use this mold, there's no reason it needed to stay Jetfire (SG Thunderwing maybe?), and there's also no reason it needed to keep this bland deco (which looked better on the original toy). Hasbro is not confined to the same restraints that FP was.
I like their take on Megatron. That was imaginative.
It's a shame they weren't more imaginative with the rest (especially the molds that are big departures from the original version like Goldbug).

Blurr arrived today.
It looks nicer in hand than photos, but the this deco was not meant for this mold. You end up with mismatched colors.
I also wish they had retooled his front fenders into weapons.
Also I don't know if I got a bad one, but mine suffers badly from the fenders having no way to peg into his arm in robot. The pin is real loose.

Blurr! This is an explosively colourful package. Interesting that the comic is not part of the packaging, it's separate to it and sent without protection (I think that's been noted on here before). Fortunately as Pulse seem to use very study shipping boxes and air bubble type packaging, everything is in perfect condition. The comic isn't as impressive as the blurb suggests. The foil part is just the title and the UV part seems to be a few spots on the broken glass pieces but I don't have a UV light to test it. I think the cover itself is an exclusive. It isn't something to buy this for. It'd come down to whether you want the figures. I still can't work out why I like them.
