Ah yes. I was just musing, didn't think I'd got them all. I'm not sure which ones are which. Is XSpanse a proper collaborative one?
edit: I see it is. Interesting line this. There's massive remoulding going on that isn't being repainted anywhere else. I suppose because the alt modes for these figures are so distinct they can't really be repurposed.

There's also licensing issues going on. Every single one is licensed. Even if the alt mode isn't recognizable to a specific film (top gun/maverick), it's still licensed to the manufacturer, and will require retooling to be usable, which locks this specific tooling to this specific release.

Hmm. Which ultimately will make this a unique line of toys. I note from the description that Tyrannocon is female.

That's bigger than a typical deluxe. I think its just the legs absorbing the extra vehicle mode length. A shorter vehicle mode version of the mould will be normal deluxe, maybe. A shorter pair of legs certainly put the moulds silhouette in to Hound and rollbar territory.

Interesting. Likely first sighting of the Skids mould that was leaked recently. Or possibly gears and or Rollbar. Or all 3. I didn't know the mould had leaked. Or is this one of the top secret leak groups this has been leaked to? Sorry, I meant the name, not the mould.

It's too big to be Skids. It does however fit Armada Red Alert. That would be very acceptable.

Coo. That looks fun. I might just bite. I wonder if Pulse UK will have any? Where are we on these now? Which ones have been under the 'collaborative' brand logo? Ectotron Gigawatt Maverick XPanse This set Forthcoming Dracula one According to ID, Pulse will have it as an exclusive first, then ID can list them 1st December. They also claim they will be cheaper, but probably only be a few quid.

Right, well they're asking £118, so if that's cheaper than Pulse...

Tyrannacon head sculpt gives me a Machine Wars Skywarp/Thundercracker/RiD Skyfire vibe. But I feel like I've seen a similar head elsewhere too.

Looks like a mixture of G1 Grimlock and an AOE Dino.

I was thinking IDW Grimlock, but definitely a Grimlock.
though I can see the MW heads now.
Is it weird that they leant so heavily in to Grimlock colours for the robot only parts when they could have done absolutely anything or is that just clever marketing?

Surprised it's actually a T-Rex in this set - I was expecting a reuse of Dinobot for reasons that would have made sense to no-one but Hasbro, but here we are. Well done Hasbro.
It's a nice set, with some ridiculous names (it's like they're not even trying) and an even more ridiculous price, which is why I'll not be bothering. Which is a shame, because that's a great retooling for the BW Megatron mold there. The first thing that came to mind when I saw it yesterday was how well it'd work as Grimlock - but we're never likely to get it as Grimlock because aside from the re-use of crossover molds issue, we've already got a Grimlock in Kingdom from Dinobot. That, said, however, that's never stopped Hasbro from putting multiple Primes or Bumblebees in a line before, so who knows..?

I was thinking IDW Grimlock, but definitely a Grimlock. Ah yeah, obvious now. Was looking on my phone last night and couldn't make out the vents on the side of the head. Surprised it's actually a T-Rex in this set - I was expecting a reuse of Dinobot for reasons that would have made sense to no-one but Hasbro, but here we are. Well done Hasbro. The Jurassic Park movie 'raptors weren't really scaled correctly anyway so it can't be for scale reasons.

Not even close. Just because two things transform similarly does not mean they are reuses.

If the shoulders transformed the same, I'd think they were onto something. But I see no more evidence that JP93 is based on that specific Prowl, than I do him being based on SS86 Jazz.
