Okay, so those wheels on his back have me wondering if he's reusing ER Optimus' engineering (like Studio Airazor reuses Kingdom's engineering), or if that's a coincidence because it's a logical place to stash his front wheels?

Yeah, don't like either of those, I'm afraid. Prime had potential, but looks unfinished thanks to all that unpainted grey plastic, and is way too small. Rhinox is just awful - his beast mode is way too boxy; I know it's a diffeent take on a beast mode but it just looks like a box. Disappointing. Although Prime maybe I'll pick up when it's half-price, just to see if the mold is actually any good to fiddle with, which it looks like.

This 'mainline' term, what does that refer to? A unique film line, or generations/studio series or something?

There is a separate RotB line, just like Bumblebee, Cyberverse, and Earthrise.
It has all the gimmick toys, plus this time it has it's own Deluxe and Voyagers, like The Last Knight and Age of Extinction did.
This whole thing is "The Main Line"
But there are also Studio Series entries like that voyager Cheetor (as opposed to the kingdom/BW styled deluxe cheetor). This is not the main line.

We know there's been a delay to the movie's release. One wonders if at some stage the Movie beast robot designs got changed, perhaps at a late stage after the majority of the toys had been designed and gone to factory?

And maybe the Studio Series line is the only one that's actually on schedule, in that it was meant to come out the year after the film - i.e. now - with the other main line being on the shelves the year the film was originally meant to air - i.e. last year in 2022.

The Rhinox is just sooooo boooring.
Made more obvious compared to the (proper) Kingdom one.
Every interesting defining kibble, detail and colour has been removed.

Nerf Optimus Roll Play Blaster Single-fire Muzzle loader... Nah. Way too large for what it offers. If it is something that unwieldy then I wouldn't want to go any lower in capacity than the 3 from a Rivals sidearm. Ideally a five-or-six chamber revolver at least. The only single-fire Nerf weapons I go with these days are the Scout, and only because that fires the big 10mm darts. :-) Karl |

I would say that given Hasbro have done this, maybe eventually they'll get around to doing a Megatron version... But this is Hasbro. Roleplay Megatron will transform into a sword. Because why not.
