Not Cromar, because he looks like Omega's Planet in the Black Hole?

Aragon it is because he was in Lord of the Rings. No, that was AraGORN. But the actor/comedian Stephen Mangan did name his prog rock band after the Powerdasher Aragon. Every time I see that list of names starting with Cromar I start thinking shipping forecast. And almost any region name from the shipping forecast would have been better. Yes, we should rename the Powerdashers as Fitzroy, Dogger and German Bight! Martin

Week F: What is the best Toy on the 1985 Japan catalogue that's been altered from it's US version?[url=h Two toys find themselves changed in Japan in 1985: Megatron loooses his chrome and most of his accesories, swaps his blue for red and gains a sword & the ability to fire bullets Astrotrain meanwhile gets a colourscheme, probably his intended Diaclone colourscheme, of a Black train and White space shuttle: But which is better?

So were the catalogue makers!
The picture on the catalogue doesn't exist as a production version - there's no chromed red legged Megatron without the attachment points to be the best of my knowledge....

<digs> Right Microchange 12 looks like the original Japanese Megatron: grey plastic, blue inner arms & legs, no fusion cannon/stock attachment points. www.microforever.com/MC12Gunrobo.htmThere's a black version of that, with blue plastic Microchange 13 looks like the original US Megatron: chromed, leg inner arms & legs, fusion cannon/stock attachment points. plastiqueboutique.com/microchange-mc-13-walther-p38-u-n-c-l-e-diaclone-megatron/For TF Megatrons see tfwiki.net/wiki/Megatron_(G1)/toysOriginal Japanese Megatron, which is also in VSX: grey plastic, blue inner arms, legs & bullets, no fusion cannon/stock attachment points. Goodbye Megatron gets the chrome, red inner arms, legs & bullets, and cannon mounting point but is mising the stock mounting point. Reissue 16-S, TFC-06 & Encore-2: chrome, red inner arms, legs & bullets, and BOTH mounting points The e-Hobby version of these has black plastic for the chrome and red inner inner arms, legs & bullets, There's a G1 with Movie version which is effectively Goodbye Megatron: Grey plastic, no chrome, red inner arms, legs & bullets, Fusion Cannon attachment but no stock.

Week 7: What is the best Japanese 1985 Boxset? This week we come onto some "not on the catalogue" madness with the 1985 Japanese vs Boxsets: VSX Convoy vs Megatron
VSY Grimlock vs Soundwave & Frenzy
VSZ Skids & Sunstreaker vs Buzzsaw VSX is the same as the Japanese released toys VSY swaps Soundwave's Rumble for Frenzy and throws in an audio cassette VSZ is toys otherwise not released in Japan in 1985

Whoa, it would be fun watching Buzzsaw take on Sunstreaker and Skids in a fight. He could potentially win it if the circumstances were in his favour. I'm guessing that box set is cheaper than the other two, but I'm voting for it because it's an intriguing combination, and probably more special for Japanese collectors at the time if they'd not had those toys before.

I've always felt sorry for Buzzsaw in that set: one microcassette vs TWO Autobot cars. Didn't seem an even contest!
All 3 of these, plus their 1986 sequels which we'll come onto later, are $$$!

Grimlock vs Soundwave here. A good match.
The three pack seems unbalanced. And can you imagine being a kid and getting Prime vs Megatron only to find Prime is missing two of his three components!!
Plus you can clip Soundwave to your belt.
