They'll be popping the corks at Haslab HQ. They've avoided four failed projects in a row.

They'll be confused, though, I'm sure - there's no real difference between Deathsaurus and their other offerings, in that it's just a slightly fancier "normal" figure that could've appeared in one of the mainstream lines somehow. Maybe all this shows is that Transformers fans are a bunch of marks...
Hoping that this isn't going to be the pattern going forwards now, and that this doesn't become the only way to get what used to be Leader or Supreme class toys (depending on how you want it), and that future Haslabs are more interesting.
Still not decided if I'm going in on this - I've got some non-trivial expenses looming on the horizon, and I don't think I can justify it...

Isn't this basically just a rip-off of the 'Death Saurer' from Zoids: Chaotic Century???

Chaotic Century is 10+ years post Victory
The original Deathsaurer toy is earlier that Victory - 2-3 years - but it's basically another riff on the Giant Tyranosaur theme whereas Deathsaurus is more a dragon, with wings.

Good point. I guess they're ALL technically a rip-off of the OG Godzilla/Gojira.

That looks massively better than the render or block prototype.

I'll give them props, that silver paint on the un-breasted chest looks very much like unpainted diecast.

Yep, the paint looks nice, but I'm still not as wowed by it as I was Victory Sabre. I know that both sets have multiple figures, but Deathsaurus' don't offer the same complexity as the other set. It's just big. A good looking Commander class toy, but nothing more than that...

I'm going to stick my neck out and say I think it will get the chair.
It's grown on me but I simply don't have the pennies for it this close to Christmas. Oh well. I remain strangely sanguin about it though.
Maybe I will be full of frothing FOMO when Victor Saber turns up but unless I do crypt time I can't afford one anyway!

No throne. Simply because I have not the room for it.
If it reaches the Throne, should I donate it to Andu?

Okay. So 11k is on the low end, but that's a full production run from what we've been told in the past. That puts these in normal retail ballpark from my understanding.
So going by that premise, Deathsaurus looks like a pretty standard Commander Class. IE, he doesn't look much more intricate than Jetfire. That makes him an $80 toy. The two beasts, hasbro swears are core class, but don't really seem like it to me. But but $10 each.
So that's $100 there. Let's give them benefit of doubt and say that there's mild premium deco going on, that wouldn't happen if he were a retail toy, plus being on the lower end of a production run, they aren't banking as much per unit as they would Jetfire or Skylynx. (I personally think commanders have a significantly lower run than deluxes do). So that's $120-$130 depending on how generous you want to be, here.
They're charging $180 for Deathsaurus. So that's at minimum a $50 difference.
So at 14k, we get a gun, and some recycled blast effects that no one (except phil) seems to want. At 17k (which really is into full retail production numbers), we get a chair.
So this is a long winded and bitchy way of saying that even though I don't give a shit about a chair that'll never leave the box, I want it because I'm paying like... Eighty bucks more than this toy is worth to me for it and I want every scrap I can get out of this.
That said, why couldn't they throw in a Leozak retool of PotP Scarscream as the unlockable instead of a chair and shitty blast effects?
