I think more than half of what I bought just last year is still unopened, let alone previous years, which makes it all the weirder that I took the time to open and play around with Thundertron last week, who I practically bought by accident. I have a sealed RID Scourge awaiting my attention! Why can't I prioritise?!?

Disappointed to hear that Barricade is like that, I thought he looked pretty great from the photos but that's a maddening flaw to have. Had been waiting for a sale, but don't think I'll bother now.

If it helps, Pinwig, 2 of the Aldi Edition TMNT figures can't stand up without falling over. -Ralph It... does not. I'm so disappointed with this. It's so close to being a genuinely cool figure. He *almost* does upright, but unfailingly ends up looking like a hunched over old man.

If it's any consolation, I currently have four unopened Transformers. What.

My first thought was "yikes! How can you screw up this badly?" So I went to wiki, and realized that the original toy actually looked nothing like him, and this version is actually really accurate. My second thought on seeing his actual character model (i guess for the first time?) was "yikes! How do you screw up this badly?" My third thought now is "why do I keep sticking my fork into this particular electrical socket and not expect to get zapped?"

I predict Phil will buy this because it's one of his Lambo boys.
I predict I will buy this because I'm an idiot.

I dunno. I don't think Phil has bothered with the Gamer Edition subline.

Unlike literally any of the other SS-GEs, this mold is actually growing on me. ...just not as Sideswipe. If you changed the head, there is literally nothing about this that looks remotely like it should be Sideswipe.

I see you all complain about Sandstorms feet and then you buy this with no comment?
Fuh.

Oh I'm not for one minute saying this is a good toy. I'm not sure it's much better than the old one, be nice to see them side to side, but I am inexplicably drawn to toys from those two games. I have to own them in the same way Ralph needs to own every copy of the Micromasters comics.
Meanwhile Sandstorm is one of the triple A dream team as far as I'm concerned, he needs a perfect, perfect toy so it's much easier to panic about those flappy feet.

So, I've only ever seen Cliffjumper and Megatron in stores.
Cliffjumper is clogging up shelves at one specific walmart, while I've seen Megatron once at Kroger, for their laughable price of $50 for a voyager.
Fast forward to today at Target, I came across Sideswipe and Starscream. I don't know why, but I took them to the price scanner to check them. Sideswipe was on sale for $15, and Starscream for $23.
TL;DR up front: Sideswipe is absolutely worth fifteen bucks. Starscream is a ripoff even at $23.
Sideswipe is a bit gangly and awkward as a robot, but solid enough. But he has a unique and complicated, though not overly difficult transformation, and a really nifty vehicle. My only complaint is he can't hold his own gun. He's better in hand than he looks.
Starscream though is actually worse than ge looks. He's an OK robot, though a terrible representation of both the game model, and any version of Starscream that ever existed (especially the one he's intended to be). He's an even uglier representative of an already ugly design. His weapons are also extremely awkward. But if you pretend it's not Starscream, the robot mode on its own is solid enough. His transformation is unremarkable. But his space jet mode is where he really crashes and burns. It suffers the same "Incomplete Spaceship Syndrome" that the most recent Astrotrain does. I won't even comment on my thoughts on the craft's overall design, just this toy doesn't look finished. The section between the front end and the rear end, the entire middle part, looks like it should be collapsed/folded away some how.
Do not recommend. Got it on sale and I feel cheated.

I'm pleased Sideswipe is good. I'll look forward to getting him. I fear I must discover the terribleness of Starscream myself.
