I've just staggered back in from the pub, so I'm assuming that those pictures of that gloriously chromed Leader Jetfire are a figment of my cider-soaked imagination, and that in the morning they'll be gone. Which'll be a shame, because, damn, isn't he just so pretty..?

That said, though, that packaging is one of the worst examples of packaging I've seen in recent years.
"Look! A robot! And a picture of the same robot right next to it!" Yes, thanks, I can see the robot. I can see it with my eyes. Pictures of robots are only necessary if you package the toy in vehicle mode. LIKE YOU SHOULD.
Sorry. Some things I just get too passionate about...

I miss the days of them being packaged in alt modes.
It's fun and usually intuitive transforming it out of alt for the first time without instructions. It's a headache in reverse.

Why is his face chromed? Gah!
Surprised to see the box is presumably just a larger version of the existing Generations packaging. I thought with this unification with the movie toys they'd use the new style.

Either way, Jetfire does not have a shiny face!

Aha. Finally a size comparison. So if the top of his head comes in line with the top of MP10's windows, that makes him about 8.5 inches to the top of his head? maybe 9 to the top of the exhaust ports behind?
I think that's about right. Wouldn't want him any bigger for Generations toys. I watched a video review of Daca's Chronos the other day, it's getting a fair number of rave reviews that toy, but it's immense! it may be in scale to the G1 toys, but stood next to an MP Car it absolutely dwarfs them. If the Generations Leader scale (so Megatron too?) is coming in at 8-9 inches I think that's where they should be.

If Gen Leaders are 8 - 9 inch, that means Leader Megatron wont do as a MP stand-in.

That Jetfire does look the perfect size for Generations though, and looks absolutely fantastic n'all.

Jetfire's the same height as MP10 in those photos isn't he?

Looks a bit smaller to me. By a good head. I'll have another look....

Oh aye, he's a mile shorter! Megatron wont do next to MP10 at all. Oh well, I had hopes of a MP stand-in.

Looks great next to Jazz there. Jetfire's a very decent looking figure. I'm still happy with my Classics though.

Nope. If he's the same as Jetfire then he'll be too short next to MP10. You can see that from the photo. I'd argue the finish wouldn't be up to it anyway.
There is a huge gap there in th 3P market for an accurate gun Megatron the same height as MP10. I'm really surprised given the amount of stuff coming out now it hasn't been tried. Unless it comes down to the problem of it being gun. Fanstoys could do this so well.

He does look awesome but again like recent toys my eyes are immediately drawn to those hollow thighs. Given how nicely that figure is finished why can't they be clamshell halves.

I think you're right, the finish wouldn't be half as good, but if he'd have been the same height he may have just about done as a stand-in. Baaahhh!!!

Or any kind of MP10 scaled Megatron! The IDW style one we've seen would be awesome upscaled to MP. There is that 3P Megatron that we've seen the gun mode of that's supposed to be MP scale. But I was less than convinced by what we've seen so far of that. Can't remember who was making that. Heck, upscale Hegemon! I don't think he should be a gun though, these days. Make him a tank with a G1y body.

He does look awesome but again like recent toys my eyes are immediately drawn to those hollow thighs. <SCREAMS> THEY'RE NOT HOLLOW! well not beyond that almost all TFs are hollow. What they've got an open side to them where there shouldn't be! See also: Ball Joint!

Yes, so the open side exposes their hollowness?

It doesn't really bother me, but I do wish they would do such things on the back of the leg.

Yes, so the open side exposes their hollowness? Hollow implies it's enclosed!

Shall we call them gaps? Gapages?
Whatever they're called, they're there and for me they spoil the frontal viewingness. Only slightly like. Rear of the leg would be much better.
