I dont know anyone who has seen it so no idea of my opinion is unusual, but Ronald D Moore is behind it so if you like DS9 and reboot Galactica its probably worth a shot.

Seen the shiny discs on sale in HMV. Intrigued. May pick them up shortly. And binge-watch them. Which for me usually means watching a whole disc in one go.

Got my s1 & s2 sets last week. LOVING s1 so far - 8 episodes in. Good stuff
I am suspecting it's more Martin than Ralph though

Alternate history stories (like most multiverse stuff) generally doesn't interest me, so you may be right.

Finished s1 & s2. Superb. Decided to follow up with a rewatch of BBC's Space Race, a drama documentary of the space race pre moon landing. But it occurred to me: Bogatan did you know who the older engineer was that met Danielle in her room at Star City?

Ah, cool. That was a very good scene, but his identity completely passed me.
Must rewatch.

His survival on the operating table in 1965 is the point the timelines really diverge

I hadnt caught that.
I had been wondering if they had stated/shown the divergence in the time line. I guess you just need to know the real history to spot it. Or I wasnt paying attention.

Little thing called a job taking up my time on weekdays. Haven't the energy to do it justice when I get home in the evening. Roll on the weekend. (Or is that the weekend on roll, on this forum?)

Finished season 2 last night.
I can't rate the series fairly as a whole, because I have different feelings about different elements of it.
Ideas, concepts, plot, originality - first class. Visuals - no complaints for the small screen. Acting, directing, characters, dialogue - decent, but unremarkable. The ideas/concepts/plot/originality would be done more justice by actors of 'Apollo 13' calibre, dialogue by scriptwriters good enough for 'The West Wing', some memorable and unique characters.
My one big complaint about the series which I found increasingly frustrating as it went on is its exclusive focus on the Americans, with us not getting to see anything of the Russians except through the eyes of the Americans. It would be a much, much more satisfying series if it gave equal screen time to American and Russian characters, with them eventually meeting up after we've become familiar with the view from both sides (like the Essos and Westeros plots eventually converging in 'Game of Thrones'). As it is, it feels a bit like that series which exists in my head, but having all the Russian scenes edited out.
A lesser complaint is the time jumps during and between seasons. It annoyed me in 'House of the Dragon' and it annoyed me in this. It suggests the series is in too much of a rush.
But worth watching, and continuing to watch, if only for the interesting plot.
Martin
