X-Men...
With this trade everything 265-300 has been colour softcover reprinted, the longest reprint run before regular trades (410+) not involving GS1-X-Men 143

Ooh, Punisher Epic collection? that's a first. I shall have that. It's not good Punisher comics. That is not a particularly great era. Andy

Wonder why they started there then. Maybe it's stuff not available elsewhere at the moment.
Makes me wonder how old we'll all be when the epic collections fulfil the promise of their volume numbers.

It's an era that has been overlooked and uncollected pretty much iirc.

Possibly for a very good reason ....
I'm not a huge Punisher fan, but that first Essential collecting all his appearances up to and including the first LS is a great volume.
ASM Annual 15 in b&w is worth the volume price alone.

While I have a soft spot for Punisher comics all you really need is the first LS, around the first 30 issues of the ongoing that followed, Welcome Back Frank, World War Frank and Frankencastle.
Other good stories exist but swimming within vast piles of poo!

I would also add the early issues of Punisher War Journal with Carl Potts and Jim Lee, and the first six issues of Punisher: War Zone - JRJr did a kick ass arc on that with Chuck Dixon are worth seeking out.

I love the whole run of the Marvel Knights/Max series. Got those as floppies. Any Ennis/Dillon Punisher is great.

Frankencastle is almost a classic but runs just a few issues too long when the joke was getting a bit tired. It remains very very good, however.

Which series would you like to see get Epic Collectioned?
I think the two I'd really like now are Marvel Team Up and Marvel Two In One

I would probably go for a West Coast Avengers one for old times sake.
I'd like a collection of Power Pack stories from outside the main run, but that wouldn't be an epic.

New Warriors, Alpha Flight - I know both have been Omni'd but Epics are much more wieldy and I can't see us getting NW Omnibus vol. 2+ unless there is a TV series or movie. I wouldn't mind replacing my WCA omnis with epics if that were to happen.
I'd like the Thor epics to cover Simonson with the original colouring.

Saw this in the latest Previews catalogue: www.previewsworld.com/Catalog/APR170428Justice League International Omnibus HC Vol 1. Note that it reprints issues past where the previous collections [6 volumes] got to and avoids giving any credit to Gerard Jones.

I enjoyed the New Mutants Epic, great to read stuff from that era of X-Men which I hadn't read before. The Magik series dragged a bit, but still explains more of her character and the nonsense surrounding her than the brief recaps I'd read before. Hopefully Vol 2 won't be too far away. Excalibur Epic Collection in the post!

Well, it's not classic New Warriors, but here comes a TV series: downthetubes.net/?p=37252Would be surprised not to see the Epics start up next year now as per PM/IF (mind you, you would have expected them to do more with Ghost Rider off the back of his SHIELD appearances). -Jim

X-Men Epic Colletion v5: Second Genesis arrived late last week: got lucky and found an eBay auction for less than my Amazon preorder. Bear in mind I own the material at least four times (Essential, Classic X-Men, Rampage and Masterworks) but I'm really quite pleased with this. The additional material - Marvel Team Up and Iron Fist issues is welcome (not sure I ever had the Marvel Team Up annual in colour before). Some nice additional material too including the revelation (surely I must have known this at some pt) that UXM 94 & 95 were originally going to be Giant Size 2! (The actual cover for Giant Size 2, which is original X-Men reprints, is also included)
The volume also ends at an appropriate moment too, at the end of UXM 110.
My only complaint is a double page spread of Stephen Lang that I can't open fully.
Decent volume. Early runner for trade of the year I think.

Haven't had a chance to read it yet, but was impressed with initial flick through the X-Men Second Genesis Epic. Don't think I've read the Marvel Team Up issues, or Iron Fist #14 before.
Also looking forward to the X-Men Classic Omnibus. Not a fan of the giant Omnibus format, but will be good to be able to get rid of the singles.

Awww, the Iron Fist epic collection is well worth a read. Over half of it is mid 70s Byrne/Claremont and is good stuff.
Similarly there's a Byrne/Claremont MTU volume that's well worth a read, and contains the Havok/Thor stories in the X-Men volume.
I wasn't 100% sure about the X-Men epic cover, I'd have gone Giant Size X-Men 1, but the old vs new theme of UXM 100 works well for a handover volume between the two teams.

Currently £23.91 on Amazon for the price watchers www.amazon.co.uk/X-Men-Epic-Collection-Mutant-Genesis/dp/1302903918/X-Men 19: Mutant Genesis 29/11/2017As readers of this thread, back issues and X-men well know we have been following the question of "How many times can Andu buy X-Men#1 quite closely. Here is another opportunity. Portacio X-Factor Apocalypse! The Muir Island story has never been collected in colour. The New Warriors annual is missing from Kings of Pain

Captain America Epic Collection 13: Justice is Served arrived last week. Fab collection, and a nice set of extras at the start collecting all the Scourge hits in other books. Not sure I've read the Cap annual featuring Wolverine, a then rare guest appearance, before. I'd got all the actual Cap issues within and now have c290-350 traded!
Also got the Firestar volume which was the last mid 80s X-Men limited series I hadn't read. Nothing special. I *think* that leaves just the 84 Sub Mariner series as the only 80s Marvel Universe limited series I haven't read/got.
Half way through Groo: Fray of the Gods wich is great stuff as ever.
The Amazing Spiderman: Green Goblin Epic Collection is in the post, £21.50 thank you very much Book Depository, and I'm looking for a cheap Avengers: Masters of Evil Epic Collection
