Nothing wrong with the first series of Blackadder! Yeah, good point, Pins. It's the weaker of the innings, but darn good TV 'n no mistake.

I'm really surprised that her wings aren't removable, because retractable wings are the only feature she has that sets her design apart from her G1 and Aligned counterparts.

I don't know if it's because Silverbolt was the first figure I bought as an adult so as to start me collecting, but that new Silverbolt looks really good.

I haven't bought any BW updates but I might get Silverbolt just so I can put him unopened next to the original Silverbolt I bought that I also never opened.

You should just open the original then. Save yourself some cash.

Funny thing about him, like TMII Megatron, he is still technically on the 'to open' pile. He's just been there quite a while.

A mint BW Silverbolt was on my list for this year (got to get all those Fuzors!), and the prices for him both loose and sealed have been all over the place, you could pay anything between 40 and 120 GBP for him. I got a sealed Metals Silverbolt for about 60 EUR in the end.
Great toy anyway, and this update is looking really nice. Not sure a premium repaint could improve enough on what we've seen.

Those "gatling wing-blasters" mentioned in the puff-piece appear to have outer barrels set up to rotate around a central larger-calibre barrel. The logical part of my mind develops a headache trying to work out in what world this would ever make sense, compared to having the large-calibre weapon and a separate rotary gun...
The mecha fan in me just smiles and observes that Tigerhawk has become a little bit Extra during their sabbatical. Perhaps watching a lot of Gundam Wing? :-)
I've mixed feelings about this. I think they've made a great stab at getting this to work under the current ground rules. But I'm not enamoured of the mix of proportions between the back half, and front half of the chimera mode. Yes, it makes sense if you look at it as a literal "glued a bird form and a tiger form together" chimera, but the original had more of an even visual proportion across it - more of a "we amalgamated all of both of them and sculpted a single new chimerical creation from that mass" feel to it. (I'm not explaining this well, but this is as best as I can put it into words).
The humanoid mode is great though. They look fantastic in that form, and I think they are going to have amazing shelf presence.
Also - anyone know what that display stand in the fifth image is? I don't recall seeing it before and it has some interesting Action Base style functionality by the look of it.

I assume it's just the quality of the photos but that Megatron looks very cheap, like a Poundland toy.

I find myself in a dilemma. I have the original. So my plan was to wait for whatever this mold is intended to be. However, I also have all three recolors of the original.
My friend however loves three things very much: Transformers, lions, and pirates. Thundertron was designed for her. She's getting this version. But now I'm wondering if I shouldn't give her my copy of the original, too, and get this version to represent the character in my collection?

I am of mixed feelings with this. I kind of like this, but I think the original toy is more interesting visually - and also looks more on the "mechanical being" than "purple bloke" end of the scale in humanoid mode.
Not keen on the whole detachable foot thing. That seems like a recipe for ending up loose in short order. I think I prefer the in proportion shoulder pads with claws on to the massive lumps of plastic.
On the other hand the lion mode on this one feels like it has more leonine proportions, whereas the original feels somehow more lupine to me.
I think I'm leaning in the direction that if I want to own a Thundertron for a while I might be better grabbing an original and letting this go by...
(Assuming that I am moved at some point to pick up either that is.)

I wonder what uses there could be for a detachable foot in general.
