I had, indeed, completely forgotten about that listing. And I certainly only vaguely remember asking that question - probably because I was in Singapore at the time. But interesting to find out that it would have been a video game tie-in set.
I was trying to figure out what set had both Optimus Prime and Soundwave in those modes and with that number of transf- conversion steps, and I couldn't. Which is understandable since a quick Google suggests that would've been a repaint of Siege Prime and a repaint of Cyberverse Deluxe Soundwave. Which would certainly have been a choice.

There are toys on the way for the upcoming Reactivate video game (formerly known as Rise, AKA Shine) but are there any pictures out there? Everything seems to be leaked these days but I can't find any pictures for these toys. There are at least four toys coming, twin packs of Optimus Prime and Soundwave, Starscream and Bumblebee. The solicitation email I've had from Diamond doesn't even have a picture of the former, with one small picture of the latter, an outdated one at that, showing a Rise box. TFWiki does not mention anything that hasn't been formally acknowledged by official sources.
It won't mention listings found in store databases for anything upcoming, though it will mention them if they fail to manifest, however.
But yeah, those listings/rumors are all we know. There hasn't been anything new on that front, and it may or may not have fallen through.
It also seems that the general reaction to the game has veen luke warm at best.

Well, in its favour this is the first conventional Starscream in a while that doesn't look like it will have an extra pair of useless air-intakes in its underside! It looks like the intakes actually fold down on this one. They are a radar signature nightmare with those very exposed fan blades, but you can't win them all... :-)
Not sure that the colour design on these is really my sort of thing. It may work better in motion in a videogame but it feels rather bitty and haphazard in the toy pictures.

Starscream there looks like an aerodynamic nightmare.
That said, if it were more normal, I think I'd prefer this over ER.
The gribble and weird layout of black makes them both too busy and kinda ruins what look like decent designs.

Rise and Shine, both code names for Reactivate? Poor word play Hasbro! I suspect that it was changed from the original Rise to avoid confusion with Rise of the Beasts. Rise and Shine maybe being happy coincidence that it works as a code for Reactivate? This thread was started two years ago? No wonder I couldn't find it to pose my question about photos! (Thanks for moving it, Phil.) I like the look of Bumblebee, being rather different to the norm. A bit heavy on the black in vehicle mode, perhaps. Starscream's colour scheme is... haphazard. |

I actually kind of like that Prime. I think his colour layout is better than Bee or Screamer and, as Ralph observed, the truck mode is really nice! And the different proportions in humanoid mode really help to give it an identity of its own. It kind of feels like it is starting from the "sense" of the G1 Prime but reinventing it and modernising it in a way that a lot of recent Primes haven't really been doing.
I think this is probably the most tempting "cab-over" Prime I've seen in quite a while. Not sure that I'll get it, unless a dealer has them at TFN next year. But in person I might be tempted by it.

I like the arms, legs, and chest. Truck mode could do with less unpaintable gray plastic, but it's okay.
But where this gets killed for me is the abdomen. That just looks terrible.

Having looked at this some more I don't dislike it, for sure. It's just... I have a lot of Optimus Primes that have this sort of truck type.
That said, someone pointed out that this has certain elements that are reminscent of the Evergreen design, which became dangerous since it now reminds me slightly (mostly around the abs and shoulders) of how Kei Zama drew Optimus Prime in his titular series, and I absolutely *love* their artwork, so this is certainly becoming more tempting to me now. If he had slightly bigger chest windows then I'd be in real trouble. But for now, I shall continue to hold. Until a sale.
