I didn't get the first 3 as I knew full well the trade dress would compel me to get them all. I shall stick to Epic and Omnibus formats for my Marvel.
Besides, how many times can one man buy FF#1?

I reread HR Fantastic Four and Iron Man in paperback not too long ago. FF is still pretty good, but I didn't enjoy Iron Man much. The Doom-centric crossover which caps off HR (and ISTR was collected in the Iron Man volume) was fun though!

I remember quite liking Iron Man, FF and "The Return'. I haven't read any if these issues in over (gulp) 20 years so will see how they hold up.

About half-way through the Heroes Reborn Omnibus. It is the very definition of 90's comics.
Those opening issues of Captain America...sheesh!

I liked it well enough, the big problem I had was them diminishing the role Professor X had in his personality, there was a Mark Waid issue of X-Men which showed he was fuelled by Xavier's dark impulses, which was really well written but gave them their out to keep Professor X afterwards. It would have been the perfect way to be finally done with him and Magneto, rather than have the come back time and again and Professor X be more evil each time.

The last chapter isn't missing though - it's a fill in effectively with a mish mash wildstorm crossover that has no bearing on the stories and was by a lot of fill in artists- iirc Larry Stroman does the 13th Iron Man issue. |
