I wonder about that - there's an existing SW1 Trade. What else could they have stuck in this volume apart from the 12 issues LS ? A FF issue and a She Hulk issue. Hmmm £65 for 14 issues ? I think not. Chuck in the entirety of Rocky grim Space Rannger and we might be able to start talking. www.amazon.co.uk/Marvel-Super-Heroes-Secret-Wars/dp/1904159834for the 12 issues pbk compilation for £9

I have an earlier printing of the Secret Wars paperback, but the printing and repro aren't as good as they would be now so I have been patiently wishing for remastered HC edition to replace it with due to my deep and abiding love of the madness of it. I thought we might be due one with Secret Wars II coming out.
I reckon the amazon listing is in error for price or contents. We'll see when it's solicited through Diamond. I agree the Thing issues would fit well in there. As would the FF Secret Wars 3 story if it isn't in the SWII book. The newspaper pages and original covers from Secret Wars UK would be great extras.

The solicit for Secret Wars II Omnibus is up. No mention of the ROM issue, even though it's the one issue in which the title character is absent. Damn you, Marvel!

I'm looking at the Captain Britain Omnibus in the solicits. I know I don't need it but it has 'drunken purchase' all over the cover.

Yes I know I'll buy it. 680 pages of Alan Davis Captain Britain in one huge volume? And with the Dave Thorpe issues.
And I know full well I'll pick up the Secret Wars and Secret Wars II Omnibii volumes too. Then shall my bookshelf die.

Don't worry, if it is any consolation you are not the only one who is falling into the gravity well of the Captain Britain omnibus. I think I am going to need to acquire a copy of that myself. So much Captain Britain material - the characters real hey-day - all in one chunky volume..?
Yep, that is going to be an essential acquistion.

I'll be passing. I still have an eye to pick up the Secret Wars Omnibus and can't afford another Omnibus on top of that. Besides, Masterworks Cosmic Jim Warlock is due out in June and I've been waiting years for that!

Is the Captain Britain Omnibus going to be coloured (like the trades) or B&W (as originally printed) ?
I think the only AD B&W I have that's also been done in colour is his UXM (213, 215 , annual 11). Though I do also have originals of all the MSH CB and a opy of DR & Quinch's totally awesome guide to life

As far as I am aware it's going to be coloured.
The Alan Davis Modern Masters book is a treasure trove of black and white AD goodness. Well worth picking up.

It is. I had a look through a copy in FPG yesterday*. Loads of extra gubbins, such as the text pieces, back-up strips, covers etc from the UK comics.
Damn it. I need one now. Maybe after August.
