Y'know, I *could* see that. But not when there's an obvious better choice already available, which already has a closer aesthetic and the correct accessories.
Does make me wonder who Chase could be reused as though...

I thought when Mark said "wait six months or so then you'll see him reused" that he meant wave 3 and that the skeleton of Chase would form Cybertron Hotshot - I can see some similarities in the waist & Upper legs - with an awful lot of what makes him Chase gone the and legs ending up on the opposite end of the car to Chase. A bit like the Scourge/Highbrow/Windblade reuse.
But so many people have said Lockdown that I'm wondering what I missing cos I cannot see it.
Star Seekers and Wave 3 due in a similar time frame....

A big part of it is the original Lockdown was a deluxe that was as tall as a voyager. That was just absolutely bonkers, back then. They did it by making his legs the entire length of the car. His feet were the front end, his hips were the rear. Chase is identical in that regard, in a way that's unique from all the other recent TFs who's front end form their feet (albeit, chase collapses it down). He also has strong vibes with his RotF Lockdown in the way his chest and arms form. And we know Hasbro is on a kick about blending multiple versions into one update, lately. Then, there are the duel exhaust pipes on the sides of the car, a feature identical to Lockdown, but doesn't exist on Chase, or Axlegrease.
It makes way more sense to me that if chase's "skeleton" gets reused, for it to be Lockdown, than for Hotshot (don't see that at all). Change the front end panels, roof, ditch the emergency lights, and a new head. Probably thrown in something from AoE lockdown that I'm not accounting for.
We've had far more unlikely and extensive retools, recently. Cyclonus/metalhawk springs to mind.

They're all nice, but yes love the Lockdown Deco.
Mould choice is causing some consternation elsewhere due to people convincing themselves it would be Chase. Toph & I discussed that upthread, he was Chase, I was Axelgrease. I just struggled to see Lockdown in Chase.
Have seen a VERY nice digibash of Chase as Prime Cliffjumper elsewhere.....
I suspect now that the Chase reuse will be a complete reshell of the skeleton as Cybertron Hot Shot in wave 3.
Blue Airazor with new wings, nice. Cannonball works. Fair bit changed on Ferak and he's gained two of Jetfire's missiles

I don't think I can see myself buying any of the others, to be honest. Which is fine, as it looks like the Mayhems will be taking a few of my pennies.

Lockdown is a funny one. He _does_ look nice, but at the same time he looks to me like Lockdown's deco slapped on the wrong mould, kind of like you'd occasionally see out of FunPub in the old days. To me part of Lockdown's appeal is his body type, which carried through well from his Animate toy to the movie-styled one. This loses that. It's like Lockdown cosplay.

Ferak is...odd looking. It is a strange colour scheme - feels like a random background character where a colourist dotted some red on an otherwise mostly white character model quickly before moving onto the main bits of the frame. It isn't awful as redecos go though.
Cannonball is ok. The sort of toy that would have easily been an impulse buy if he was at retail in better economic climes
Filch, I rather like - a purple corvid of some kind named "Steal" seems appropriately rogueish. I quite like the colour scheme too. I think that Filch is probably the most interesting of the bunch to me.
Lockdown...doesn't really feel Lockdownish. He lacks the elongated proportions of the Animated version, or the skeletal looking humanoid form of the movie version and somehow just lands up feeling a bit generic.

I... actually quite like that Lockdown. He looks like an actual G1 Lockdown that could have provided the inspiration for the Animated character model. Sure, he doesn't have, say, the height you'd expect, but he doesn't look like the kind of halfway-house that doesn't work at all like Prowl did. I might actually have to pick this one up.

Cannonball is a bit interesting. He's the Skids mould with remoulding .... .... but it's not the same remoulding that was used for Crankcase .... .... although it does look like MANY of the same pieces were remoulded. New body shell, new head. Almost without noticing Skids has turned into Legacy's Siege Sideswipe. The original version of the mould has been done THREE times: He's been remoulded as Crankcase, who was repainted as Medix And Skids is now remoulded *AGAIN* as Cannonball The original Cannonball is a repaint of Cybertron Deluxe Red Alert: Will they produce a repaint of Star Seekers Cannonball in those colours? I'd say YES but we believe there's a Voyager Armada Red Alert incoming for next year tmukhub.proboards.com/post/515153/threadCould they do both in a short space of time? Amusingly Cybertron Deluxe Red Alert was also repainted as Movie Universe Deluxe Crankcase (WalMart/Asda exclusive) I'm not 100% sure we're done with the original Skids version yet: No Legacy Reboost has yet been sighted! That would give us all the major colours of Diaclone Skids www.diaclone.net/orid/dia044/index.htmlwww.diaclone.net/orid/dia041/index.htmlBut technically Burnout should have the original Skids head and there should also be a red Skids headed version of Reboost Then there's the Movie repaints of Skids Skids tfwiki.net/wiki/Skids_(G1)Screech tfwiki.net/wiki/Screech_(Generations)Plus the Movie Rollbar redeco of T30 Skids Rollbar tfwiki.net/wiki/Rollbar_(AOE)#ToysWe could see a few more uses of Skids yet!!!!!!!!
