But, er, the show runners have been consistently maintaining it's a continuation and not a reboot for 10 years now. There was even a spin-off (Sarah Jane Adventures) which revolved around a companion from the 70's era of the show!
If DW from 2005-onwards was clearly intended as a reboot (in the same way IDW Transformers was not a continuation of Marvel Transformers but a fresh start in 2005) then I could understand why folk divide the series. Otherwise that completely baffles me! David Tennant seemed to think he was playing the 10th Doctor and not reboot number 2, etc.

Star Trek and TNG are different series?
Exactly the same thing!

I haven't mentioned the word reboot. I know it isn't a reboot. It's one ongoing canon and I'd never say it wasn't.
All I'm saying is that I'm less interested in the production side of the 2005 onward episodes than the ones preceding, and therefore wouldn't buy a £10 a fortnight book on the subject when I already have the content in modern, well designed magazines. However, I would buy a book that collated and updated the various older articles on the production of the pre-2005 episodes. Nothing more than that.

Star Trek and TNG are different series? Exactly the same thing! Not really. That's two shows with different characters in the same shared universe. DW from 2005 onwards is about the same character as featured in tv episodes from 1963-1996. Maybe this a debate for another thread though! -Ralph

I'll have to pass on the partworks books in terms of subscribing. Austerity measures continue to erode my wages so I need to cut spending on hobbies further not increase them! A shame. The books look nice. On the other hand I really don't have any space for 80 hardback books anyway!

The new cookbook is now in release. I don't want to spoil it but it is worth flicking through. There are at least 3 WTF guffaw inducing recipes seemingly randomly inserted in otherwise generally banal fluff.

Read the new chapter in the revised JNT Biography last night.
Great stuff, catalogues the development of the book through three publishers, the interview process - including talking to TFM, and what happened when the book was published. Massive new chapter and loads of new photos too.

Ooooo, I was unaware the new edition had additional material. I had presumed it was just to change the title and keep it in print.

Miwik are publishing lots of interesting niche books.
When are we getting the glossy tabletop book "The computer panels of Doctor Who", Phil?

Kibble's negatives on the actual show are the only ones I can think of, but even then he's careful to balance them. The merch reviews are relentlessly positive.

Ah but you may recall the ongoing 'difficulties' between Nick Briggs and DWM's reviewer of BF product a few years ago. Brigg's was often making caustic remarks about DWM reviews in BF podcasts of the time.

The Dalek Book is in Turnbull Towers.
Aside from the comic strips which are pretty, the illustrations are bad.
