It's amazing how toys keep going out for this 'dead' size class.
It's also amazing if Smyths start carrying Core. I don't think they did before?

Dying gasps. Odd Smyths picks them up now... not that they have them in stock yet.
I think everything we knew about in the Core Class size is now out or revealed. Just the SS86 3 pack to come.

I am unconvinced of these being dying gasps. They keep coming out! You said it was dead 5 months ago.
We can say any size class is dying if we wait long enough.
As the Doctor said, everything becomes a beach eventually.

Right at the start we said there was no evidence of any single releases beyond the end of the year

Yes. Or on life support.
However, a retailer has picked them up for the first time. *Shrugs*
Was there ever any official notice from Hasbro on the cancellation or is it just an absence of scheduled new releases?

If you still have gaps in your Core Class collection, it's always worth checking The Entertainer as they often still have old Core Class figures sat there shelf-warming.

Complete absence of scheduled new releases. It's possible one of the scehduled ones has now been pulled too as it wasn't in the recent reveals package

In my PhD thesis I quoted some bloke who said something like "Never use the absence of a signal as a signal." Sound advice.

Special case of "Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence". I think that it is probable in this case that Phil is partially correct, in that their are no current plans for any further Core class toys beyond those we are already aware are to be released. I don't agree that this is a proven fact however.
Scientific method would call this a postulate that has a high probability of being correct. But in the absence of a definite, verifiable statement of intent that "We, Hasbro, do not intend to release any further toys at the Core-class price point" it cannot be proven to complete certainty. It is all about relative degrees of probability of correctness - like most things in life.

The year is 2039, it's been 15 years since the last core class toy was released. Phil continues his uphill battle, proclaiming once more that "...it's over, finished!" only to be met again with

I don't think they ever commented on Battlemasters going. And IIRC the only commentary on the Micromasters 2 packs was because they were being replaced by the core class

I don't think Hasbro would publicise stopping production of toys because of the negative connotations that carries. We had as good as confirmation in whatever fan chat it was where they said Core would just be used in multipacks where needed going forward, like Soundwave and his cassettes.

Shall we look at the very first post on this matter? The goal post are stationary: there are no c£12 Core Class toys being released individually after the end of this year. There may be some core size toys coming out in Multipacks. Like there is here

Also, it royally sucks that with the end of the core class pricepoint, it's highly unlikely we'll get the rest of the tapes. I mean geeze, Blaster only has two. And one of them is gangmolded to him, and stupidly in translucent plastic. 3? Eject in translucent and solid, translucent Rewind with Twincast and SS86 Steeljaw. Plus Ramhorn is believed to be coming in a core exclusive 3 pack for Target next year with Ratbat & Perceptor But...Core...is dead! -Ralph

Core class as a price point has ended going forward, core toys as VAM pushing up Voyager toys to Leader price point hasn't. Hasbro said as much in one of the fan things they did. We can also see that in what was probably going to be an SS86 Ramhorn new mould individual release like Steeljaw now being shoved into a box with a reissue.
