Today I started on the process of emptying the Billy Bookcases in my room so the bookcases can be moved in a week or so
Seeing my Pratchett books in boxes has done bad things to an already struggling head, as has the blank shelves in the cabinets left behind. The arms aren't keen on the process either!
There's a quite major milestone approaching at the end of next week: the ramp is coming down from London.
Even in pieces this is too big a job for us to do in van
So next Saturday my friend Catherine, who Mrs Ralph has met, and her husband Clive are driving up to London in their van which is big enough, and has the facilities to secure their motorbikes in. But since neither of my brothers in London are available I'm going to have to do a London trip to be on site.
Wednesday is my rescheduled covid & flu jab. Thursday I'm anticipating will probably be a wipe out and I can't travel up then cos Friday is Jonathan's 18th birthday and I need to be here for at least part of the day.
So the plan is UP Friday lunch time on Train and dinner out with Louise, my oldest friend from school.
Catherine & Clive will come up Saturday, get the stuff, come back with and Liz will supervise unloading. I suspect we won't be able to complete the roundtrip while there's still light to assemble.
I will need to come back Saturday, cos I need to be in Swindon on Sunday. Because the secret of comedy is timing England have a home international on the Saturday at Twickenham. Fortunately it's an evening game so the plan is have a sleep in the afternoon, get to Richmond at about kick off and get the train back while the game is on.
The ramp is kind of crucial to get me in and out the bungalow. However it and it's companion at the front of Mum's house, AND the stairlift, have all been removed in order to sell it. So being in London, albeit briefly will be challenging.
