Is it Monday? I have no idea. -Ralph Yep it is definitely a Monday. A couple of my work colleagues have decided to stop smoking. Apparently you can get tablets to help with that these days. What I wonder is whether the rest of us can get any tablets to help with the process of them stopping smoking...... Karl

Monday is nearly over and despite very little of any real substance having been done a lot of planning has been done for the rest of the year/early next.
Now I am off to lie down, drink tea and try and sleep.

Tired and achey. Busy flogging stuff to make sure we can pay the car bills this month.

Just back from work. Nothing like getting back from a weekend of humphing bags of fanzines/toys around an unfamiliar city then spending four hours unpacking a 40ft container truck full of bikes, cot beds and a surprising number of Y-wings.

Rather emotional day, wiping out the AA experience already. Hopefully tomorrow morning I can put something to rest and move on.

Started the set-up process to switch my ISP over from BT Internet to Virgin Media today. The wall socket was installed today and tomorrow the modem will be connected for internet access that is hopefully better than the rubbish that BT provided.

My sister gave me her old Nokia N73 as a birthday present and I thought I'd try and send a file via Bluetooth from a Mac. Now I've found Macs temperamental in the past but the Bluetooth function on Macs is brilliant, you can send a file from a Mac computer to a phone without a USB cable.

Unpacked a truck all morning, ran about like a nutter after customers all afternoon then got a phone call from mum saying that grandpa had to be taken into hospital again and somehow managed to get from Govan to Buchanan St bus station in 10 minutes (some kind of public transport/endurance running joint speed record) to make it in time for visiting. My legs are like streaks of piss.
Grandpa seemed to be in good spirits though, and was adamant that he was going home tomorrow. He has to get checked out and cleared by a doctor and a respiratory nurse first, though.

All the best, Nick.
Sat in with a few beers, watching second series of Venture Bros, whilst trying to work out a Christmas TF story that doesn't involve Optimus in a Santa outfit.

All the best for your Grandfather's swift recovery Nick.
What a day I have had. Thanks to the truly Time Warsian rain that we had today it took me considerably longer to get into work. I should have been in at about nine am, instead I was just struggling in at ten. The rain had not only shut down pretty much all the trains in the general vicinity of Edinburgh, but had also brought the roads to Gridlock. One of my colleagues who was coming in by bus spent three hours trying to get in from just outside Edinburgh.......
Of course, it continued to rain throughout the day. I kept an eye of the train running, and when I saw that they were predicting delays of anything up to ninety minutes on services back to Falkirk I took a colleague up on her offer of a lift home. If I hadn't done who knows how long it would have taken me to get back here.
I'm rather hoping that the weather has now broken for a while and we might get a gap after the last few days of continual rain.

Grrr, I'm blocked again at work. I'm on nights tonight and like to look at the Hub on nights. Blast!
The main road I use to get to and from work is close for a week. A major A road shut for a week! So I've had to go 'THE BACK WAY', dodgin' country folkes with toothless grins telling me I've got a nice mouth etc.
Piglet's fave words at the mo are "ninnder ninnder ninnder!" or " hedda hedda hedda!". Usually accompanied by jigging about like a crazy thing. I was trying to finish my uni assignment last week, and Mrs Shockprowl was attempting to keep Piglet busy in the other room. Piglet kept bringing me random bits of paper and some of her books saying "Help Daddy! For yooooou Daddy!". Thanks kid...
Excited 'bout the Olympics!!!

I have to get back on the job hunt trail today. Contemplating a trip out to the job centre soon to see what they've got to offer.
Grandpa's not getting out today. It's for the best, but he won't be happy. Luckily the nurse that kept an eye on him at the Royal infirmary happened to be at Stobhill today and was able to look in on him for a while, which may improve his spirits. My mum's on her way up there just now. Meanwhile, I gots ta get on with some hoovering in here.

Went to get a haircut this morning at the only mens barbers in my village and had to wait ages as two women had a perm. Finally I got my hair cut and walked out of the place and into a rainstorm.

Realised on the way to the subway after work that I was 10p short for my ticket and was nowhere near a cashpoint, and had to walk an extra quarter mile in the rain to the bus stop, which took half an hour to get me to Ralph's place instead of the subway's usual 5 minutes. On the bus home I endured what can at best be described as a torrent of non-stop cheery abuse from an incredibly drunk woman who reckoned I looked like Mr Bean/a poof/Mr Bean/a poofter/Mr Bean/something about my ears/pure Mr Bean look/something else about the ears etc etc. Then she declared without a trace of irony that I had to leave the couple I had been talking to (two evangelicals I met at the bus stop many months ago- the husband is a very cheery and talkative fella) alone because I was bothering them and they just wanted to go home and have sex. Then she called me Mr Bean another five or six times, mocked my ears a while longer, mocked my backpack or 'handbag' as she called it and the fact that I brought out something to read when I figured a distraction might just stop me from grabbing her by the hair and smashing her head against a handrail until she stopped talking and/or died. Then she got off. Then I got off, walked through the rain to my house and stood in a great big heap of poo on the way.
Still, at least no-one threw up or fell on me and I didn't witness any murders or serious assaults. Thank heaven for small mercies, eh?
