FOPP have the Sunbow cartoons going super cheap, currently. The last 1-disc Metrodome version of the animated movie is a pound. Just in though are the box sets of the 80's cartoon series at £6 a pop. 'Please take them away' signs not included.

I do hope now that Hasbro took the license back that at some point we get a remastered Season 1 as I would pick that up.

Yes, I would probably pick up a properly remastered season 1. I'd love it if BCI/Ink and Paint picked up the licence. They've done a great job on the Filmation library, etc. Their He-man releases are very well remastered and have excellent extras.

I paid about £18 for my copy of the two-disc Ultimate Edition and was so gutted by the poor special features that I haven't been compelled to watch the DVD again since.

It's a small chain of DVD/CD el cleapo stores with an excellent range. Many a bargain has been pulled from there. They went under last year though a couple in Glasgow were bought over and trade under the old name.

They were bought out by HMV according to the Fopp website. Unfortunately, bargain hunters, the Fopp website is not currently active as a shop. There are eight stores around the country. (Not including one in Cardiff as I thought there was when I mentioned earlier in the thread that I wouldn't be able to get to it. Ok, so it probably doesn't amuse anyone else but it amused me. And momentarily distracted me from the temptation to spent far too much money on "The Wire". Karl |

I don't think there is a FOPP store near me which is a shame because I could do with a few discount boxsets of the cartoon as my collection is currently a mix between the UK Metrodome releases and the slightly older Rhino US releases.

I know you are all on the edge of your seat wondering how cut-price Sunbowverse is doing in my local FOPP. Well, season 1 has flown off the shelf and has even cleared the shelves a few times. Everyone wants to see a spaceship hit a volcano. Not far behind it is the season 3/4 set, obviously folk can't get enough of that Galvatron lovin'.
The season 2 sets seem to be gathering dust though. No-one loves season 2. Awwww. Sean Burger weeps.
I now return you to your (far more exciting) lives.

Though I once did almost buy the 'best of Armada' set in Woolies once when it was £4 in a near moment of madness. Part of my brain said: "But it's only £4! It can't be as bad as you remember! And look, it has the first and last episodes so it's like a condensed version of the series! And it has a postcard!". Another part of my brain said: "But it's shit. Don't do it, you fool." Luckily, the latter part of my brain won out.

I've seen the single disc edition of the movie for around that same price in my local HMV but am waiting until the two-disc edition comes down enough before I purchase it.
