Elektra I manfully resisted in my quest to reduce my toy buying and only buy TFs I was doing OK then Ralph bought me a Magneto. I resisted opening it for ages. Then he said he could find Vision & Cyclops for me. So I got him to get them for me. That was probably where I really went wrong..... There was a spreadsheet involved and surveying of several sites for deals. One site I ended up buying the last one of several figures. Some I got sub retail. Surfer and Storm cost a tiny bit above. |

Went back to Asdaland and picked up 4 more as they are £8 in there, cheaper than online. I now have 15 of these buggers though the forces of evil are somewhat overmatched. 3 villains and 12 goodies. Megneto, Electro and Bullseye V Grey Hulk, Ant-Man, The Vision, the Human Torch, the Invisible Woman, Cyclops, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Carol Danvers, Black Panther and Green Hulk. I just noticed that Green and Grey Hulks have different head sculpts! I...may need more come pay day... -Ralph How many does Ralph have now?? Think just black costume Spidery-Man since then. One thing is for sure, everyone started the year saying they were scaling back on toy buying, but instead we've just scaled back on Transformers and gone in different directions. |

Iceman, Electro, Daredevil, Yellow Wolverine and Phoenix arrived from Pulse today.... and then went on sale. Grrrr.
Courtesy of Iceman's see through construction I've discovered bonus points of articulation, just above the wrist where glove becomes arm on most figures.
The Cyclops figure is the star so far for me, love it, captures the late 70s/early 80s version perfectly.
Not sure about the gold on the Pulse Phoenix, that might be worth a mainline redo with yellow instead like Dark Phoenix has. I'm wondering if there's something that's meant to be premium about the Wolverine in that 2 pack too.

Some of you may remember this: And I've found up to the end of w2 NAMED in that document so it's looking more like 49 total! Having got some of the figure in hand I thought I'd try to work out who each of the 37 on pages 9-10 are. And it is 37 - there's breaks in the 1-37 numbering that exactly match the figures named in the document from waves 1 & 3. The 1-37 numbers don't seem to appear on the packaging. But the long number starting 501 IS, it's the barcode. Got a set of four Avengers (the first three above plus The Vision) on my netbook pus five X-Men and a Villain on the Sofa.

If I can get the big box from Fans Collectibles into the house TOMORROW before Liz gets home that will be a result

Though they also make me ask "What are the last four?" *IF* they were calling it a day there, and I think the evidence suggests they aren't, I'd suggest Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, Doctor Strange and Doctor Doom are the most obvious absentees. I suspect we'll see at least one of those anyway! |

I loved Marvel Showdown! I had several. They were the first decently articulated 3.75" Marvel figures. Certainly that I'd seen. Superceded by the newer 3.75/4" line, but at the time they were great. Went with Star Wars and the older bigger TF Masterpieces.
