35 years of the Vervoids this week. Belting first episode only let down by the silly scream in the cliffhanger. Until that point, aside from the carrot juice scene, Mel is a perfectly good companion.

Kettle's on. Here we go then.
I bet this isn't as good as Terror of the Vervoids.

The first few minutes were trying way too hard.
I had the fear, but was quite gripped by the end.

{Spoiler}I had a sudden flashback to the awful Shakedown spin-off when the Sontaran's appeared on screen.
Yaz seems to have taken Tardis training between series 12 and 13. Big Finish should be able to fit at least 50 years of audio stories in this time gap.

"Have you ever thought what it's like to be wanderers in the Fourth Dimension? Have you? To be exiles? Susan and I are cut off from our own planet - without friends or protection. But one day we shall get back. Yes, one day...." I wonder what that season would have looked like had the BBC not destroyed most of the show's archive.

I wonder what that season would have looked like had the BBC not destroyed most of the show's archive. An Unearthly Child would have stayed the same. The Troughton story may well have been Tomb, or Moonbase. There aren't that many other 4 part Troughtons (Highlanders, Underwater Menace, Macra Terror and Krotons, which we got) A Troughton Cyberman may have drawn us to a solo Pertwee Dalek (Day/Death) instead of Carnival Three Doctors would have stayed the same as would Logopolis to give us Davison

Bob Baker, the co-creator of K-9, has left us :-(
Of the 70s Doctor Who writers just Chris Boucher remains
(I know at least one of the 60s writers, Henry Lincoln, is still with us though I'm struggling to name a second)

I think I can safely say that's the first time in as long as I can remember that I've thought, "Oh gosh, have I got to wait a week for the next episode?"
Proper Sontarans! Fab. Why couldn't Chibbers have been doing this from the start?

The animated versions of The Faceless Ones and Fury From The Deep will be on Britbox in December.
The animated version of Shada is now there. THE Reign of Terror is still absent

I'm not sure how to say this... It's kind of a sensitive topic, but I just wondered... Heck, I'm just going to ask.
Has anyone started to worry about the shelf space occupied by their Dr Who DVD collection? I have only a small collection, primarily Second Doctor DVDs, yet it still takes an entire shelf on my bookcase. How do you all cope with the sheer number of 1-disc DVD cases? Do you display them proudly, hide them away in the loft, or file them into DVD cases that can store 6 discs in the same space?

Space is always a problem for everything when you collect like we do. I can't fit all my collections in my house. However the Who DVDs are all out, full run, in a bookcase in the living room. One case per story including the missing ones because they have recon versions. The Blu-rays don't fit, they're elsewhere.

Three Blu-ray cases. One for Eccleston, two for the first two years of Tennant. I don't see the problem here?

See, this is why The Krotons is the best Troughton story. It was the one selected for the five faces season, so it must be.
Flawless logic.
