Well, looks like the last 4 potential employers never bothered to get back to me. Does it cost too much to even send an e-mail? Applied for another (won't hear on that till mid-Jan), but nowt else to go for right now as the job market dries up this time of year. Balls.
In more thrilling news, the promised rebate cheque from BT has turned up....£1.67! EPIC WIN! THE WORLD IS MINE!
Yes, I now have £1.67 to my name. I am ridiculously excited by this.

I too seem to be someone people can't be arsed to get back to. Most annoying and it's got to the point where recieving a rejection letter is actually exciting!
In other news I seem to be better (apart from being very blocked up). Though I've said that before so I could be back in bed in a few days.

I know what you mean re: rejection letters. There's no excuse not to get back to people though. Not when e-mail exists. Not even the cost of a stamp is required!
Oh, and that BT cheque is sent via 'COBRA', apparently. I had no idea ruthless terrorist organisations handled rebates for phone companies. Yoooooooooo, Joooooooooooe!

Yeah a lot of companies are increasingly like that, if you don't hear back you will have to do the chasing up in order to find out you haven't gotten the job.
Assclowns.
Beware that Cobra sponsored money Ralph, otherwise a Fred IV could appear at your door soon enough.

Indeed. And I'm not sure whether to be relieved or concerned that major emergencies in the UK lead to the activation of C.O.B.R.A to handle them.......
On the subject of rejection letters. Last time I was looking for a new job, a few years back, I found that it was generally the case that organisations only contacted the successful applicant. Rejection letters seemed to be somewhat a thing of the past. (Indeed, I was very surprised when one organisation actually telephoned me to not only tell me I hadn't got the job but to thank me for applying and offer some pointers on where I could improve in interviews). I think the general assumption these days is that people will assume that they didn't get the post if they don't hear anything. I miss the days of the thin courtesy of the "sorry, better luck next time" note, but I think it may be a thing of the past.

uk.youtube.com/watch?v=nk52_L4YJzkMore TMNT holiday cheesy cheer in the form of the Wrap Rap (complete with Karaoke words). Those unmotivated to wrap some presents this year may get some encouragement from this. Then again... Maybe not. ===KEN

Did you know COBRA is an acronym for Cabinet Office Briefing Room A ? Did you know that John Reid is really Destro without the mask? Destro: John Reid: Two bald Scotsmen who have both been in Cobra meetings!

Letting agency are dicking me around re: deposit. Tomorrow morning there shall be a reckoning. With still no cash from the benefits agency, the £1.67 to my name won't go far!

Nasty bout of the space-lurgy laid me low today. Spent most of the day curled up in my bed half asleep, and the rest of it coughing a lot. Fortunately it feels like I have gotten it under control and will be in a position to be back on my feet properly tomorrow - all being well.
(I shall keep my fingers crossed for your reckoning with the Letting's Agency Ralph.)

Well, I think giving them 19 days to return my money since I handed my keys in on a stated 'deposits are returned within 7 days' policy is more than generous.

You have been more than patient with them and it seems to be about time they lived up to their end of the bargain. Karl

Not having a good day, keep falling down and dropping things. My stomach's not feeling great and that might be playing the CMT up.
