Monday morning rolls around again. Relentless.
I am feeling positive this morning; full of hope. So what I'm going to do is open myself and share some love this week to those that need it.
So if you're feeling down or unlucky, then talk with me and receive some love.

Can't think of anything to be upset about, I've almost recovered from my flu which seemed to last forever. So Andrew is offering his services too, does this mean double love?

My mood is foul. The employability 3-week course due to start next week has been delayed until the 26th and will now only be 2 weeks. Pretty fucking fed up, to be honest. I had geared myself up to doing something useful next week as well. All the old job apps have dried up and there's nothing to apply for at all right now.

It's sadly a recruitment dead time at the moment for decent jobs Ralph. best to look at the end of the month. Might be worth seeing if you can get some temp work for a little bit, if only to keep you busy and get a bit of the green coming in.

Hang in there, Doc', some WILL turn up.
Little Miss Squishy McPiglet was so funny yesterday. Over Christmas we gave her various chocy treats, as is the season. Now, however, she has gotten used to getting them. We've gradually been reducing the provission of said chocy items, so, inorder to obtain some, she has been comming up with new and inventive ways of convincing us to give her some. Yesterday she said to Mrs Shockprowl: "If I was a dogy, would there be any chocles for me?"
How did she come up with that? We had to give her some after that!
Well, back to uni for me tmw. 2 days there, 2 shifts per week. Looking forward to it, even though it's a bit scarry at the same time, using my brain 'n' all!

It was one of the things I was looking to maybe get some help with on the course. Oh well, another couple of weeks. But it probably is not an option. It's vitally important I get a full-time sustainable job that pays enough to get a tenancy, due to other issues I'm not going into on a public forum. -Ralph

You pretty much go to a recruitment agency and they find you a job, quite often it's just data processing or clerical work.

Temp work is usually mind-numbing but necessary when required.
If you can type fast and are able to compliment fat, ugly girls while sounding genuine then you'll get a job within minutes of signing up.
I did data entry for a few weeks for Experian not long after finishing University. What an experience. The supervisor would time you/count what you could do and, for fun, make you beat your own record.

I'm just back from my fifth driving lesson. My acceleration is jerky, my gear-changing is hesitant, I stalled twice because I lose all notion of what my feet are doing when anything the slightest bit interesting happens on the road and I'm all over the shop when making left turns. Oh, and most of my skills list haven't improved since the last one. I'm especially jumpy this time because we've moved from the familiar straight road with its single, gentle bend to a housing estate and suddenly there's parked cars and taxis and kids and dogs and speed bumps and bin bags full of unspecified stuff on the road everywhere. I think the plan was to cover right turns next time, but I don't think I've made enough progress to move on yet.
Fun.
Stall count: 3.

Just have to keep at it, Nick. But with practice it'll get easier, second nature almost.
Do you have a friend, relative who would be willing to take out with L plates in between lessons?

What ANY girl? Even one with boobies and stuff? While I'm sure the boobies have their place, it's the "stuff" that's going to get you in trouble.

Damn! With the mention of "boobies" I have to go and watch that episode of Futurama where Brannigan helps Kif chat up Amy!

Keep at it Nick. You will get the hang of it. Might be worth asking the instructor to take you down an industrial estate and practise in an empty car park till things are a bit more fluid.
But yeah a mate with L plates might be a help as well.

When are you starting your lessons then, Andy? On a lighter note, you see that little dot just inside the top-left of the second ring from the outside? That's us that is.-Nick

The ducks on the canal were in a weird mood today. Usually, they swarm towards me at the slightest hint of me rustling my bag of joy. But today they kept running away. It was as if something was on their minds.

I like ducks, they are no more sinister than any fraternal order of businessmen - as long as you remember that the pond, lake or river rightfully belongs to them and show due deference (and offer appropriate tribute from time to time) they are quite content to leave humans to their business. Of course... they don't like to be crossed. I had quite a good start to the week all told - I was only held up for fifteen minutes on the train this morning, not bad considering it had been raining for 24 hours and so there were the expected signal failures around Edinburgh Waverley. Things went pretty well at work too, considering that it was a Monday. Shame that when I got home my FireFox install has fallen over and died for reasons I can't adequately explain. It starts fine, but refuses to load any pages at all, just sits their giving me an error and then claiming the page doesn't exist - despite me being looking at said page on a different web-browser at the time. Ah well, it didn't take me long to get an install of Opera fired up to tide me over until I can get 'Fox running again. (I wasn't going to fall back on Internet Explorer for any longer than I could help after all). Karl

Week 3 - a week that will go down in history as a time when Gordon Brown admitted that he wished Optimus Prime would save him. The All Spark are linking to news stories in The Telegraph and The Sun. In other news, the Gobots fanclub received a sudden influx of Tory fans. However, one long-term fan was unimpressed: "They'll soon abandon us when Obama compares himself to Leader-1", he said.
