Ah, thanks for all the kind words, NeoHubbers.
I should really have thanked Martin for pointing out the 700 typos that plagued the original text (I can't believe I thought it was 'Desepticon'..!), and for turning his proofreader's eye to inconsistencies in capitalisation and compound words.
As some of you may have realised, I did do more to the book than fix some spellings. Going back to it five years on opened my eyes to some aesthetic glitches in the prose that needed polishing up. I also did away with Cybertronian units of measurement (yer breems, orns, joors etc) in favour of good old days, weeks, seconds and so on - it made for an easier read, I thought, and perhaps made the whole thing a little more accessible.
Stuart D has been fantastic in getting the book out there and sparking off discussions on other boards, including IDW. The comments have died down now and I've no idea how many people outside of the TFUK hardcore are going to give the novel a go. Is there any way of counting the number of times it's been downloaded, Stuart?
A few people have spoken favourably of the new continuity notes, which were of course intended to bring newbies up to speed. There I was thinking I'd set the scene and I completely forget to explain why Mindwipe is an Autobot. Oh well.

Oh, and the red rust cover can also be seen as a Reddie and as the topography of the Sonic Canyons. Or a close-up of Prime's war wounds. Or a Transformer's skin splitting during the birth of a protoform.

Is there any way of counting the number of times it's been downloaded Will ask Brendan. I haven't paid attention to the site stats apart from finding out the (pre-movie) weekly traffic logs averaged 900Mb+ apiece uncompressed, and Webalizer's only data aggregation. Sorry, if I'd thought I could've looped d/ls through some simple PHP to count. Spotted a couple of typos so far (instances where one dictionary word replaces another) but 'fraid I didn't think to jot down page numbers.

Well, 8% of the first paragraph made sense to me but I think I get the gist!
As for the typos, are you talking about rogue 'Find / Replace' instances?

Welcome to the new Hub James. I'm glad to see Eugenesis available again to all and sundry, with any luck people will enjoy reading such a fine tale.

I should really have thanked Martin for pointing out the 700 typos that plagued the original text I'd just as soon you didn't, as it makes me sound really sad. Ahem. Re: third paragraph of Epilogue. What are "Thoo Transformers"? (I am what I am.) Martin

As for the typos, are you talking about rogue 'Find / Replace' instances? Nah, nothing that drastic. Just things a spellchecker wouldn't have caught and sight proofing tends to miss.

eugenesis.zip = 376
eugenesis-text.pdf = 207
Pretty good click-through ratio for the threads.

Thanks for the stats, Stuart. About 580 readers, then (unless people who clicked on the zip file went back for the 'bonus' features). I'm very chuffed about that.
As for 'Thoo Transformers', Martin, I'm surprised that someone with your knowledge of TF lore did not spot the... er... reference to the Vok's galactic cousins, the Thoo, and the *ahem* sub-race of TFs that they created.
Tell you what, though, I'd appreciate it if anyone who spots any mistakes could email me (j.roberts2@zoom.co.uk) or flag them up on this site. If Stuart is willing, I'd like to make a corrected version available in a few weeks' time (without fanfare, obviously; 'Transformers fanfiction now available without typos' isn't a headline that will set the world alight).

Tell you what, though, I'd appreciate it if anyone who spots any mistakes could email me (j.roberts2@zoom.co.uk) or flag them up on this site. I did a random search and found that all the instances of 'Space Bridge' and 'pseudo' are now consistent, but there's still one 'hyperspacial' in there somewhere. Page 248, I believe. I eagerly await the Underbase entry on the all-powerful Thoo. Martin

No worries. Either edit stuff directly into that pack of files in source_files.zip or give me a list of find-and-replace actions and I'll recompile the PDFs...

I also admit I have yet to read Eugenesis V2.0. Though I have reread bits of the original book since then.

Wow, that is a great cover! So, what's all this about then? Excuse my ignorance. It's only now I come on The Hub not on shift that I'm able to fully explore all her nooks etc.

It's pretty much the best Transformers novel ever published, there's not a lot of strong competition in that field but it doesn't diminish the quality of the book.
Download it and read it!
It's set in 2013 and deals with the origins of the Transformers and casts the Autobot/Decepticon conflict in a new light.

If Eugenesis was ever adapted into a graphic novel, who would you like to see pencil the story?
