I'll definetly be bying this as the theme tune is one of the most memorable ones from my childhood. I recently watched a couple of episodes of it on Youtube which has renewed my interest in it.

There are not many things that can make me as happy as that song. Thanks Ralph.
I've never see anyone so happy to lose a shoe.

This used to annoy the hell out of me because it seemed to go on and on and on, one episode after another with no end in sight. If I remember rightly it was on Children's BBC. Does anyone know how many episodes there actually was of this?

39 Episodes and the bbc showed the full run at least twice. Allowing for breaks over Christmas and other events it probably was on for the best part of a year if it was shown one episode per week. So I can see why it would have seemed to last for ever.
Personally I loved it, its the only show I watched that I ever saw the last episode of. Because it must have been such a fixture for so long of my young life is probably why it stuck in my mind so firmly especially that last scenes from the last episode.

I second your opinion on a proper Star Fleet release but there is trouble however locating the current copyright holders. According to a website (I think it was SFXB.co.uk) the original Japanese release is in known hands but the English translation has gone AWOL somewhere.
I'm also hoping that Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors is also given a full UK release - I loved that cartoon as a kid.

Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors is another show I loved as a kid but the fact it didnt have any sort of conclusion would put me off collecting the full series. Ditto Dungeons and Dragons. I need to collect the rest of dogtanian and then the only other full series I'd like to get is David the Gnome.

The R1 release of Dungeons and Dragons from BCI includes a cast reading of the unproduced script that would have concluded the show. I hope to pick it up at some point. The R2 release is cheap in sales but does not have that extra as it was produced first.

I loved the Mysterious Cities of Gold, Dogtanian, Dungeons & Dragons, Thundercats and another show I remember at the time called Pole Position. It was a bit like Knight Rider with two cars called Roadie and Wheels that could talk, but was better because it didn't have the Hoff. Dammit, the BBC has a lot to answer for.

Do do do do do. Ah ah ah!
I remember having a conversation with someone in uni ten years ago, as to whether MCOG had ever been released on video (which I was told it hadn't). Darn it, that's another one I'll have to add to the list. I came very close to picking up Thundercats the other day. Dungeons & Dragons and Dogtanian are also on the list. Now, if someone would just release Jayce...
I loved Pole Position. I found a video of it in a car boot sale last year. Sadly, it turned out to be dire. One that now should only be watched through a nostalgic veil in the dark corners of your mind, not on an actual screen.

I only remember it from the early eighties. Seeing as it was, I think, BTF (before Transformers) and I was four or five, I was more easily pleased than if I'd seen it later.

After watching that Pole Position video, it really does feel like Knight Rider in so many ways. It was good at the time....but dammit I still like it!
I feel so dirty.

I love the fact that the new Knight Rider is a proper continuation/sequel. Hate the car.

Although I actually do like the Ford Mustang on it's own merits, I do agree that's it's not suitable as K.I.T.T.

Why do you hate the car? I think it will depend on the story The first was sleek, fast and suited the look of the time and the ide of spped and style. It was good to juxtapose this with the prim voice of the car If the new film needs a rougher, more mean and 'hungry' car then the new model fits. The future is less rosy than in the original, needing more muscle and more attitude...ok starting to sound like those people in Simpsons arguing for Poochy but I do understnad the choice IF the script and tone requires it. Not heard new voice yet, but if made even more prim..dare I say a little camp...then may be even better. Could have a running point that he does not feel right in this 'body'

Oh quite happy to except that might be the case. I'm not being a crazy fanboy talking about a raped childhood, but on first look the car doesn't excite me. it looks utterly dull. It doesnt feel like it was chosen because thats the creator wanted, but the car Ford wanted after they paid a heap load of money for the advertising. At least with Transformers I felt like some thought had gone into choosing which GM car best suited the character.
Course if it isnt the original KITT the above doesnt apply, then Im just pissed because Pricipal Pheeney wont be in it.:_
