Ah jayce and the wheeled warriors, the end credit theme was infinitely superior to the intro.

Superted has the most OTT origin ever. Alien visitation, Cosmic dust, trip to meet Mother nature and a magic potion. Most heroes would settle for just one of those. Jem ran as long as Transformers. Garfield and Friends ran for 6 years! Gobots looked a lot beer than I remembered. Andy edit : Oh my hey nade Gilligans plane

Me and Mrs Shockprowl don't mind a bit of Knight Rider. Just a bit of 'candy for the brain'. I love the way Hoff makes unnecissary little grunts inbetween sentences. Seriously, you listen closely.

True.
I recall being scared by the big evil truck, Goliath, when I was a nipper.

Jayce is indeed tops - love both theme tunes and make frineds cringe when sing them RING OF LIGHT MAGIC MIGHT!!! or something - which could be taken in an odd way the Star Wars cross overs were many esp the magic and science overlap

I never used to miss an episode of Jayce when I was younger even though the sneering truck with the demolition ball used to frighten me!

I've seen an intro for Silverhawks on Youtube before but without the role call. I was thinking of watching an episode of it as well - until I saw the role call. Where in hell did they get the names from?

Picked up a MASK DVD boxset at the weekend containing the first 38 episodes of the 80's cartoon. I haven't quite got through the boxset yet but I will do because it seems like a good show - a lot better than how I remembered it when I was a kid.

Resist!
In other news, I can confirm Mysterious Cities of Gold does now exist in DVD format. HMV and FOPP had piles and piles of them, though at £43 I thought: "Fuck off."

I will pick it up when it is cheaper. 40 odd quid is a bit of a laugh when we know it'll be half that in a few months time.

I'm currently watching another 80's cartoon on DVD that was made by the team behind MCOG - this one called Ulysses 31.

I might not even get around to watching it till the other cheaper sets come out, but I just had to own it straight away it had a serious impact on me growing up and at just over 1 pound per episode with a host of extras. Bonza!

I'm pretty much the same. I usually tend to buy DVD's that I like on account of them being cheap regardless of whether i've got time to watch them. When I do finally get around to watching DVD's they tend to only be watched once before being stored away.

Im fairly confident this will get more than one full viewing I downloaded it a couple of years ago and enjoyed it still but the size and quality was so poor that I stopped, but even if it does just get he one viewing I am much happier with it in my collection, much as I am about many of the Miyazaki films even though I still havent watched all of them.

My general rule of thumb is that I only buy DVD's that I think I will watch at least twice. I don't have the money or space for DVD's that are just watched once. Every now and then I cull any that have turned out to be only watched once and either bung them on ebay or give them away. The other day I was tempted by the boxset of the original 5 Planet of the Apes films going cheap in a sale but I passed because I knew I'd only watch them once.

I'm very much of the same opinion these days. Anything I think I won't watch more than once I would consider a waste of space and funds. Like my "New Battlestar Galactica" DVD's - most of them I am unlikely to rewatch - perhaps the miniseries, but not the rest. Or "Area 88" - I picked up the first volume cheap and quite enjoyed it, but I haven't bought the rest because I doubt they would get rewatched.
Space and funds no longer allow me to pick up things just because I think I _should_ own them.

I'm likely to watch the first three films again at some point but I probably won't watch the fourth and fifth films again because they're terrible. I've also got the TV series as well and thats better than the final two films despite them being a bit dated to todays standards.

There was also the Filmation animated show which was awesome in it terribleness. Utterly tops title sequence though.
